Let’s hear them!

So far for me:

1. Dinwiddie hands down with Salem, Highland Springs, and Granby.

2. Varina has Maury and has another big time opponent (I don’t think they’ve made it public yet).

3. GW Danville. SHEEESH! Reidsville, Botty, Glass, and Amherst. May be the toughest schedule Danville has had in 20 years.

GW plays Fleming too.

Huguenot picked up St. Christopher’s. Very underwhelming. I’d expect them them and Louisa to be behind Varina and Dinwiddie even if Dinwiddie and Varina finishes 9-1 and Louisa and Huguenot are undefeated.

Salem has Glass, Dinwiddie, Fleming, and PH as far as tough/potentially tough games. Not sure what Glass, WF & PH have returning, but I expect them to be tough. Dinwiddie just reloads every year so that will be tough.

What has Amherst done to garner such respect? They certainly were respectable last year, but they lose Wade, who meant more to his team than anyone else in the district.

Amherst will be a tough opponent for Danville. It’s been a nice rivalry. I meant to add William Fleming initially.

Yall don't have to respect us, We don't deserve it..We lost to Heritage and Forest by 1 score and LCA ,GW was a 1 score game late 3rd early 4th, Still losses but we are getting better. Considering where we was at 3 years ago Coach Moore is doing a fantastic job..This team will be better this upcoming year..Keep the hate

I said you all were respectable. I think Coach Moore is doing a fine job. You all are definitely improved from where you were before him. That being said Amherst needs to produce more than moral victories, or at least make the playoffs, before being considered with the other schools that were mentioned.

Please enlighten me, why is Amherst going to be better this year than last? I legitimately want to know what I'm missing. Why should Amherst be mentioned in lieu of Rustburg? As far as I'm aware, Rustburg returns a lot of skill. Believe they lose a lot on the line. I really don't know a lot about who Amherst has returning, but I know Wade was a senior.

I don’t think Granby will be that good this year again with the coaches and players they had leave.

When and where is the Varina vs Maury game? Maury stacked the deck again and most likely will be the most talented team in state again. I got them by atleast 3 TDs.

Along with the three BoKnows listed for Dinwiddie, don’t overlook their Central District opponents. Most notably Thomas Dale and Matoaca, but Hopewell, and a resurgent Prince George will be tough. And bigger, deeper teams usually wear Petersburg down in the second half, but they come to play and always have speed and give teams fits.

Dinwiddie will be battle tested every week this year. The Central will be the strongest district in the 804. People will laugh, but MBK will be much better too.

What gives you optimism about Meadowbrook? They did play with much more heart last year.
Coach Rudd has been the consistent piece they’ve needed and they’ve kept some kids that would normally go to Dale or Manchester. They are a ways from competing with Dinwiddie or Dale, but definitely much improved and could get there in a few years.

But will they be good this year? Their team’s success depended on one player who will be in Southern California this year.

They rode their horse that won them the race but I think it’s a little unfair to say that Dinwiddie’s success solely hinged on Dalton. They would’ve still won those 11 games without him last year. They are in fact just as young as Varina and Huguenot. They lost by 2 scores to Varina without Zion Bossiseau and Josh Adams. Of the 8 seniors graduating, only 4 or 5 really contributed. On paper Varina is this and that, but Dinwiddie will have the talent and the better coaching staff of the Big 3 (Varina, Huguenot, Dinwiddie).

There were simpler times. Don't you miss the old days when your favorite high school football team could blast through their opponents and go 8-2 or 9-1 and miss the playoffs?

Rumor is Phoebus got a big time 757 opponent on schedule this year…I’ll wait for announcement

If I may ask, where are you guys finding all these schedules this early? Thanks guys for any info
Some of them are already posted on fourseasonsfootball.com (Brookville's hasn't been posted yet on the site)

Some fans of particular teams have just heard from reliable sources what the schedule for their team will be.

It's kind of hit or miss at this point in the off season.

VHSL usually releases the official schedule in late June, early July.

Ok thanks Mike was just curious because all I had seen on our schedule so far was the scrimmage/ benefit game and first regular season game with Appomattox.

Who does Salem play in Blue Ridge? I guess they are not playing Northside?

The program that the VHSL, and all of the schools use to officially post schedules is called rSchool.

Often, the AD’s send their schedules to their District official and it sometimes gets posted early on the District website, (which is almost always the rSchool based format).

Schedules are not secret squirrel stuff, so often an email to an AD will get you a schedule.
Of course, if a school hasn’t locked down their schedules, it’s hard to pry what the schedule MIGHT be out of an AD or other school official. Understandably.

The deadline for AD’s to submit their schedules to the League office is May 1. But, a lot has to happen before the schedules can be posted. First, every year there are always schools that have not submitted their schedules and the League has to deal with that. Secondly, the League has an intense system of cross checking and correlating the schedules of over 315 Virginia schools, and that doesn’t include a good many private schools and a large number of out of state schools.

The simplest mistakes on the schedules, which are innocent, but numerous, often take the most effort to resolve. For instance, two opponents may have shown that they are both at home. Or one team list Thursday for the game, or the other shows Friday. Or one schedule shows game time to be 6:30, but the opponent shows 7:00.

And then you can throw in the occasional team or two that suddenly decides that they are not going to field a team and that leaves their opponents scrambling to find an opponent at the last minute.

It’s a maddening job. And that’s when things go well. Which is seldom.

So if we see the official schedule before the 4th of July, I’ll be pleased.

The real answer to the question is the Andrew Lewis B team. They are all 7th graders and play everyone elses 8th grade team. Anytime, anyplace!
