Hayfield

Appears the sources reporting this on social media are inaccurate. Sorry for the fake news.

Lol, if this was YouTube @OCBoy would have made a ton of money! Had me checking all kind of sources last night.

😂. My posting rights got revoked for the rest of the season.
You are fine @OCBoy. Another Dinwiddie fan text me and asked if I thought it was true. I told them you were one of the most reliable posters on the board. When you retracted your story I went into a prevent defense. 😂

Assuming this is true, and really who knows at this point? What happens with the power points?

Edit: Have to be forfeits.

Just hit with a post season ban
You can now take a bow for your initial scoop. All the adults involved in this farce should be ashamed of themselves and that goes all the way up the ladder from parents to coach to school administration to the FCPS Board and Administration to the VHSL. This should not happen 10 weeks into the season and 6-8 months since first reporting. I am not arguing for either side but, against the process that has allowed the situation to fester until now. Terrible, absolutely terrible.

Oscar Smith, Highland Springs, James Madison, Battlefield, and Lake Braddock among others won't be upset by this if Hayfield doesn't succeed in their appeal...

Hmmmm it's honestly only 2 or 3 804 teams I can think of that would be suspect potentially.

Let's see. @BoKnowsSports keep me straight on this first chain of moves. The James River QB transferred to Highland Springs. The Highland Springs backup qb from last year went to Varina, Varina's qb went to Huguenot, Huguenots QB went to LC Bird (so did Manchester RB).

Let's see Huguenot gotta dump load of new players in the past two years. Same type of AAU (Hurricanes) deal as Hayfield. Bird picked up several new players and as previously mentioned so did Springs. Am I getting warm @OCBoy?

Huguenot might be the next to get caught. They were downtrodden for years and years, now magically overnight they're a state power. Pretty soon there will probably be a transfer portal in high school smh

You may be on fire. Or it could be on the basketball side of things 🤷‍♂️

The problem is the information is distorted and possibly recommendations? I’m not going to say anymore on it because it’s a lot more going on. The vhsl is not going to release anything. We will have to wait and see if Hayfield has an official comment for the truth of this to come out.

I know people get frustrated because the truth is slow coming out. And then you add well meaning people speculating, and others taking ideas and thoughts and running with them like they are the gospel truth. And then you add the restraints and considerations of rightful privacy owed to the kids and others, and it’s extremely difficult to ever discern what is actually truth and fact.

I’ve heard the fuming about why it took so long. As I know you know OC, you can’t just take an accusation and start acting. You have to build a case, or as is often the case, validate that the accusations are founded in some wrongdoing. And then you have to work through all of the “defensive rationale” provided by the accused parties to see if it’s valid, and then determine if the accusations are truly rules violations. And if or when they are proven, determine how they occurred, why they occurred, and what is the best course of action. And hopefully, each and every time, consideration is first and foremost for how it’s going to impact the kids.

The bottom line is that all this action takes time. Have you ever noticed how long it is between when a person faces criminal charges, and when they actually have their day in court? The system is designed to assure that there is no rush to judgement. Frustrating? For sure. Sometimes abused? Absolutely. But it’s a fair and just system.

Hard to know what is real, but this looks like the latest.

Over the next 48 hours, an appeals committee for the Virginia High School League will review and make its decision regarding whether Hayfield High School is eligible for the postseason in 2024 and 2025.

The committee met Monday to hear from the Virginia High School League and Hayfield officials.

The VHSL has recommended that Hayfield be banned from the playoffs for 2024 and 2025.

Yep, feels like the 2 days were either "We have to make sure this doesn’t look like a rubber stamp decision" or 48 hours to figure out a reason/explanation to rescind the ban.
Doesn't really matter. The disparity in the findings says it all and the real question is who is going to look worse when the dust settles. To quote an old adage, the whores have been identified and now is just about establishing price.

This is a huge test for the viability and usefulness of the VHSL and depending upon the results COULD significantly impact their future credibility.
Agree wholeheartedly. If the League does not handle this appropriately, then it basically sends a message to the others that are violating the rules that you can skate by if you if you can fabricate plausible enough excuses.

Let’s pray that this delay is not an indication that the appeals committee has knuckled under.

There has to be penalties for the Hayfield athletic department besides the student athletes. 2 years is a severe penalty.

I want to hear the final resolution and hopefully get more discussion of all the findings and information they relied on in reaching a decision. So far very little I have heard or read gives me confidence in anything that has been done so far on either side but, I will withhold further comment until more information is made public.

I have no clue what is going to happen, but my experience tells me the VHSL is trying to figure out a way to do damage control.

There have already been two different articles by the RTD. One indicating a two year ban, then a retraction indicating it was just a recommendation. If this was a court of law I would be leaning towards an overturn.

If the findings indicate wrong doings then the punishment needs to send a clear message. Even though the handbook is not clear about how a coach can be punished I still think the VHSL needs to apply (if guilty) the same ban to the coach. If not he can just wreck a program and move on to another school.
