Do we think the Law Firm that FCPS fired last week had anything to do with the Text messages somehow just appearing to the public.....if so, I like their style lol.
FCPS didn’t fire anyone, the City of Fairfax did. Two separate entities. And by having them released, it helped the City of Fairfax, not hurt them. So I doubt it was the lawyer.

Don’t you love the loyalty shown by corrupt, dishonest people. As soon as the shit hits the fan, they sell out their best buddies in the blink of an eye. Wherever the pointer swings, that person will squeal like a pig.

They were absolutely going to get away with it and cruise to a title. I wasn't joking above, don't do questionable stuff on work phones. You'd think people could look at major cases like Hugh Freeze and learn but apparently not.
You are right, but it doesn’t really have anything to do with this situation. That coach he was texting could provide those screenshots regardless of which phone they came from.

Wait till the inevitable lawsuits start. The AD will be first under the bus, who will join him?
Superintendent, School Board, Principal, Coach, VHSL? All are culpable.

I was thinking about this earlier. Curious to know if the parents that were prepared to sue the VHSL for the potential future loss of NIL $$$ for their young athletes were now going to be willing to sue the School Officials and Coaches with the SAME ENERGY they went to court with?

Now that the REST OF THE STORY has come to light....this could get good.

That boomerang can be a dangerous weapon. Still LOTS of UNANSWERED questions. I'm betting legal council is advising some to invoke their 5th Amendment rights. Which could explain why we've lost a few Screaming Hawks on this site over the last week....that shoe was going to drop eventually.

That's a ridiculously dumb thing to do and would get them disbarred in the blink of an eye, so no.

Incredibly easy to fake texts. If the paper couldn't verify those texts it would open them up to a massive lawsuit that they would absolutely lose. This is why they FOIA'd the phones and likely did so months ago (FOIA can take time).

I can't tell you how easy it is to fake a text nowadays, any bozo can do it in seconds. This is why all those memes you see of a funny text convo are just faked, much easier to write a joke and fake the text than depend on the actual situation to happen as you want.

So we know this is from a FOIA request?
It might have been, but I suspect HR started confiscating digital devices & lawyers started finding stuff in the midst of their discovery processes pending that Dec 4 court case. There's forensic software that's used to find all your deleted texts & emails on your phone!

Someone on here said, never use your work phone for your personal business. That's true but they can get that phone too once they find out it exists.

Pretty safe bet. Article itself said "texts obtained by the Fairfax Times", usually about as plain as it gets. If it came from somewhere else it'd be deemed as sources e.g. "texts obtained from sources within FCPS" or "texts obtained from outside sources", something along those lines. The paper themselves saying they obtained the texts tends to mean nothing else but FOIA.

I would bet it was an FOIA request. As sensitive in nature as this was building up to be, FCPS wasn't just going to offer up that information without an official legal request.

I'll bet there has been a follow up request after those text messages were divulged. That's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm so disappointed in the behavior that's been identified so far....then watched a YouTube video last night from a couple years ago where a certain head coach was crying about all of the "haters" coming at him from all angles looking to bring him down...while he was at a previous school. I'm all about and believe in the innocent until proven guilty....100%....but I've seen enough smoke in my lifetime to know that there's a friggin' FIRE that's creating all that smoke....and jails are FULL of innocent men and women...just ask them.

I had assumed the coach who was texting with Fritts provided the texts willingly, but I think your scenario might be more likely.

This could go on for quite a while.

Edit to say: Watch how fast they turn on each other.

Should this extend into PWCS & Freedom? If you read the comments from this latest report, similar issues were likely in place down there too?

Can VHSL drop a bigger hammer?
In the comments section, someone mentioned that some players were listed as homeless while enrolled at Freedom to skirt the zoning/home address issues. If this investigation broadens, and wrong doing is found. Freedom could possibly be forced to vacate their 2 titles.
Someone is quickly going from victim to stone cold villain. It's no wonder the "supporters" have suddenly disappeared. Legal counsel has obviously DEMANDED utter silence. They're in FULL DAMAGE CONTROL. Too late now. Ego's just RICK-ROLLED 'em....enjoy that SLIDE

...it may... by using the homeless classification under that federal law can do things that provide support resources funding (local, state, federal) based on the number of students in that classification (..sort of like the $$$ that support free and reduced lunch programs), though not necessarily directly to that student, more to the school system, then allocated. "IF" it slides down that road, (and again I am no expert) it could get really messy, but take a while for all the lawyers/courts to sort it all out.
