Number 12 scored a rushing td for Chambers early in 4th quarter that gave them 20 points. Muffed punt was the first td and KC caught the second td. I was at the game, the highlights are on YouTube also, number 12 did the karate kid pose after he scored the rushing td.

I kind of get your point sir, but I was right there and admitted I did not fully grasp the cultural reasoning. Just curious why is it wrong for @CRF4Dan and I to question why one black man would say that to another over a game no less. I know I am being facetious, but it seems like you saying the name Warwick and Dinwiddie made the man say it? I would bet the dude has no clue who either school is named for and why. You said to pull it up from the root, so here it goes. I could care less if they changed every schools name to #222 or Kermit the frog HS. Still no man and I mean no man deserves to be talked about, degraded, and disrespected like that referee was. Make all the excuses you want, but that was pure irresponsibility on the dudes part. The incident held up the game for ten minutes. It was a ball game not a political rally or protest. That's BS and you know it. That man was pissed about an interference call and the ass whipping his team was getting. Worse part is the people who had to escort him out where demonized for following VHSL policy regarding racist statements. Again BS. We had nothing to do with his stupidity and even so treated him with dignity and respect. We proved that Dinwiddie County will continue to demonstrate our belief that every man, woman and child shall be treated equally and with due respect.

I want to go back to what was discussed earlier in this thread. Specifically, about kids and what they post on social media. And along with that, the examples that adults set for them.
It’s a fact, that statistically, virtually zero high school football players will every make a living from football. But, every one of them must make a living somehow.
If you think for one minute that any respectable employer does not check the social media history of a prospective employee, then you are denying reality. An employer may look the other way when they are hiring someone for just grunt labor. But, that is where they will stay. A rare employer wants to risk being embarrassed when an employee’s controversial postings come to light. Especially if it deals with content of a sexual, racial, or radically strong political nature.
Before we blame a kid for just being a stupid kid, and making a stupid kid mistake, we need to ask ourselves what kind of example we are setting as adults? And part of that setting an example is what we tolerate by justifying or simply ignoring.

I never said that the name of a school makes anyone do or say anything. I specifically asked why do you have high expectations of anyone when the actions of Virginia public school leadership has always been in the gutter? Culturally, why are slaveowners, racists and slavery honored by European descendants? Why would a White person want to honor such people? As a Black man I have never been able to understand why any White person would want to celebrate and be represented by such evil. The same way a White person does not understand why a Black man would speak evil to another Black man is equal to celebrating racists and slaveowners. This is a two-way street we are standing on. Stop celebrating evil people and whitewashing what they stood for while trying to regulate the words people use. That is called hypocrisy. America did not give and protect the rights of the Black man you are complaining about until 1964-65. 57 & 58 years. This is a fact. Don't you find that odd and counter to what we say America claims to be? I am a veteran and I have lived in a foreign country where what we do in America is illegal. Illegal!!! Our high schools are named after some of the worst humans to ever breathe air, yet you want people to play nice? Listen, I get it. People reserve their worst opinions and criticisms for other people. I am going to let this go, because we are not making head way and I am in a happy place nowadays. I honestly think VA has tried to remedy things in the past two years and obviously there still needs to be work done. I thank you for your service and appreciate your thoughts, but to be real your correlation makes no damn sense and I will leave it there. I have been working with delinquent kids of all races for 34 years and not one ever told me he committed a crime because of a school name or slavery period. Did you know I used to cover football/basketball for a VirginiaPreps? I have met and crossed paths with Frank Beamer Jerry West. Larry Bird. Danny Ainge. Rudy Tomjanovich. Patriots Defensive Captain Jerod Mayo. Former Notre Dame Coach Tyrone Williamham, others and an endless list of players all because of Virginiaprep.com. I have been honored to meet some of the greatest coaches in Virginia high school history including Mike Smith and Bill Dee. Along side all of that I have inside my file a copy of a message board post from a former Virginiapreps.com leader blatantly breaking this rule: No Attacking Other Posters. He used to enforce this rule on others while he casually broke it. I keep that post in my file so that no one can ever say he did not do it. This is the source of the problem you have with the man escorted off the field. We have our hands over the mouths of people controlling what they say. We have our hands over the eyes of others so they cannot see the evil we are associated with. The rest refuse to listen.

I was merely goin off what I read. I KNEW Concepcion had beat us for about 40yds but couldn’t Remember the second TD. I knew the first one. Either way you’re talking about a defense that has only given up five touchdowns the entire year, and two special teams touchdowns before the two Stonebridge scored. His team still has not given up 75 points the entire season, including the playoffs.
Have been following this post. Thought I may have been the few HS Football fans that witnessed the absolutely rude and uncalled for behavior of this particular Maury coach. Pregame before last years semis against Green Run, he crossed the 50 yd line and spewed his crap while both teams were warming up.. I think he is the same guy referred to in earlier posts. Some players engaged in the fracas that ensued. They were mislead, the young folks that play the game. The refs had to break it up as Green Run responded to his provoking ill behavior. This guy does not represent a positive influence. Why he is still on the staff reflects badly on the head coach that continues to allow that behavior. We met again this year, still that coach spewing the same infantile crap. Unfortunately, perhaps the best QB in the state suffered a shoulder injury early in the game, as did Maurys awesome Mr Jones an ankle. White tried to come back after icing down in the second half, but was not nearly effective as before. Jones did not. Easier to replace a running back than a top tier QB. The better team lost. No sour grapes here, but hope HS beats the crap out of them. And that Maury realizes that no matter his ability this coach is toxic to the their program.

I hope you didn't take that as a dig btw. If you go back and look at the post I quoted it obviously wasn't meant that way. KJ is a stud. I think he's better than Jarrett. That offense is tough to stop. Miss one gap and it could go for a touchdown. NB is well coached.
I was conceding that point in my original post. I was saying that of the 2 NC opponents faced by Highland Springs and Maury, Maury obviously played the better team and did a pretty good job score wise. If all their opponents Maury played them closest.
Every publication OF MERIT ranks Highland Springs AHEAD of New Bern nationally too. MAURY isn’t exactly healthy either. Even healthy,HSHS is a 10 point favorite. 27-14!

We love proving folks WRONG! New Bern ranks 3rd NATIONALLY in rushing, with all home-grown talent! NC Preps had us pre-season #12 (4th in the East). I saw where Massey had us losing last night. Whoops. Good luck today. Wish Maury was healthy but still hoping for a good game.

After watching New Bern last night, I believe Maury will have this thing closer than most of us expect. New Bern was better than Chambers, Grimsley, Hough (defensively), and Dutch Fork imo… Playoffs are all about match ups and even though that Maury/NB game was early in the year, I’ll say that Maury holding them to only 21 points is very impressive.
If the Highland Springs/Stone Bridge game showed us anything it's Highland Springs is mortal not invincible as some might have us believe. It won't be easy but Maury has a shot.
Your post is exactly what I was trying to articulate concerning their game with Maury. I don't think people understand the speed/pace Maury plays at. New Bern must be a fantastically disciplined team to have held them to 14. Conversely, Maury held arguably the best team in North Carolina to 21. Stone Bridge is not as good as New Bern or Maury while the team HS played from NC is a 3 loss, 2nd tier playoff team. Highland Springs will need to harken back to the days when they were this speed demon, raging monster in Virginia in order to stop the Commodores, injuries aside. I say 28/35-14 Maury. Whoever the back up running back and safety is should have already called next and should be itching for kickoff. Maury has 3 games where I would have liked to see a much more dominate score; Pilots, Bookers and Greyhounds. If those scores are a harbinger of doom Highland Springs 14-13 or any score with a 1 point win.
We had 400 yards rushing but they did a good job of holding us out of the end zone. Glad we put them on the schedule.
Too much football math for me. I'll take HS something like 31-13. Maury isn't as battle tested and not at 100%.
18-7 HS. Short pass just before the half from 5 yds out. XP no good. Maury turning the ball over has cost them in the first half.
