So I did not see the game but I was following on Twitter and via Matt’s live blog. Two extremely talented teams no question. Regarding the TD, I don’t think it would have been a catch if we had replay but it was a great individual effort that got rewarded. I don’t have a problem with the call especially with a HIgh school officiating crew.
What I want to know is how can the kicking games be that bad??? Seriously, how could Smith have to repeatedly go for it pinned deep in there own territory? The amount of penalties on OS was ridiculous and problematic. Can’t expect to win self destructing like that.
@757FridayNiteZ I guess it depends on if you are glass half full or half empty guy. OS self destructed at times and you still were right there with the 5a 4 in a row champ... half empty is coach Scott teams do play really hard but are known for penalties and bad 4th down decisions. I’d say you should be glass half full though. It was only game one for you.
Doesn’t sound like HSHS was the epitome of efficiency yesterday either... feel free to correct me if I am wrong there. The idea that this team is unbeatable is silly to me. When you play a team that you can’t just dominate with talent and blow off the field things a change a bit. There are a lot of younger, newer players on this HSHS team. Still, finding a loss on their schedule is doubtful. Too early to crown the as the best HIghland Springs team ever IMO. I think the team with Dortch still has my vote, for now.
I was hoping we would see two excellent teams play excellent football. Sounds like it was two excellent teams that were fighting through an early season learning curve. Which is to be expected.
Finally, after 8 months of build up... how could this game not be televised, streamed, or on the radio anywhere??? What a shame!
I hope both teams escaped injury free and best of luck to both teams moving forward.
