After three seasons at the helm, Jeff McGowan has stepped down as the Head Football Coach at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, VA.

During McGowan's tenure, Green Run went 19-16 overall with consecutive playoff appearances in 2013 and 2014. They notched postseason victories over Maury, Norview and Hampton in those two seasons. Prior to his arrival, Green Run had won just three playoff games (1995, 2007, 2008) in school history.

McGowan, 40, was the Head Football Coach at Kempsville from 2003-06, compiling a record of 25-15 overall. He also served as an assistant for the Stallions for three seasons when Shawn Wilson was the Head Coach.

An All-State defensive tackle at Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, McGowan went on to play College Football at Appalachian State, where he was a tight end from 1993-96.

The Stallions, who had their regular season conclude in a 38-22 loss to Kellam last Friday, finished 3-7 overall this year.
