I knew QB play would be key. I don’t mean this as any disrespect but nobody outside this KG staff expected Koch to have the season he did. KG lost 22 seniors from last year and with what they had on that defensive line, Dinwiddie probably could’ve scored 100. Y’all think I’m playing, they have DBs taking protein shakes out there to play on the offensive and defensive lines. 6 turnovers killed the Foxes today but I think it’s a testament to their staff to fight the way that they did. Going to be a huge game next week at the Pit!

On top of losing those two Div 1 receivers. I’ll give KG credit they were not intimidated.

Turnovers have hurt King George. The pick 6 followed by the fumbled kickoff and Dinwiddie scoring a second time quickly, is a tough sequence to overcome. King George has stayed tough though. The missed extra points could come into play. Down two scores instead of one as a result. Should be a great second half!
This right here was the whole turning point of the game. You could see the KG sideline in disbelief… if they went up 14-0 whole different game… kudos to dinwiddie hella of a job

Gunnar wasn’t even supposed to play but he worked his ass off to be back today. Need UVA or Tech to scoop him and Charles Johnson. Crazy that Tech and UVA is that bad and doesn’t even show love to our better in state guys.

Wow, what a game. First let me state that not one person involved in the Dinwiddie program lacks respect for Coach Lunsford, his team or their fans.

We had a wonderful atmosphere today and both teams played their hearts out.

Last night I was fortunate to hear some of our defensive game plan and I can tell you we executed fairly well. When we got pressure on Koch he threw ill advised passes. When we did not he scorched us. Yes, we once again had two defensive backs out with injury, but we offer no excuses. Lunsford's offense is extremely difficult to defend and we did everything possible to disrupt the flow. #6 Reger is freaking nasty good and runs the drag route to perfection. If you were not at the game it's tough to explain, but our defense earned every turnover. There are no what ifs in football. You win or you lose and we beat a well coached team with some damn good athletes.

The teams combined for over 1,000 yards and Dalton rushed for 317 and six TDs. It took some time, but we simply wore KG down.

Tough task ahead of us next week. Varina's defense is a different beast.

Huge shout-out to @Virginia HS Football Fan and @MrSalem1000. I enjoyed meeting and talking to you guys. Hope you enjoyed the game and hospitality.

Pretty sure Dalton is not from this planet.

See you Saturday at the Pit! Just a small correction, Gunnar is #2 and Ky’Mani Carpenter is #6. Gunnar was #6 last year. Not sure who you meant to give credit to but both young men are damn right nasty and very good young men!

Yea I was impressed with those boys. I think the would've scored on any of the remaining 4B teams. That was a legit passing game and wasn't just throw it up and pray.

Walter "Gunner"Regar. He has 3 TDS and ran some of the best/precise routes I have ever seen a HS receiver complete. He uses rubs and picks well too. Carpenter had 1 TD and played well too.

That's what I was trying to address earlier. All the credit to coach Lunsford. We missed a few of our keys and got beat a few times, but for the most part the QB and receivers made plays. They really run sound routes underneath and when the safeties push up boom it's a quick post or fade. Very tough for a high school defense to maintain all game. We did well in my book. 4 ints. 2 fumbles and numerous hurries/sacks.

Gotcha! I watched the game on Facebook and couldn’t tell who was making those catches. I know Gunnar gave Carpenter his #6 so that’s why I asked. Gunnar is going to Navy, would love to see him in a pro offense where he could show off his receiver skills.

King George is just solid at the skill positions. Can't say enough about the subtle adjustments Mills made to slow them down.
