The KW tandem of Demond Claiborne and Jayveon Robinson had another stellar night against Poquoson last night. Claiborne had another huge game on the ground with 295 yards rushing and 5 TDs, while Robinson did his damage through the air, going 7-12 for 187 yards and a TD. His brother Tre Robinson accounted for 126 of those yards. In 2 playoff games, Claiborne has 593 yards rushing with 10 TDs on 27 carries. For the season he is now up to 2,155 yards rushing and 37 TDs on just 144 carries, for an average of almost 15 yards per carry. He's also added 2 receiving TDs for a total of 39 TDs to date. Robinson on the season has 1,062 yards on just 67 carries, for a 15.8 yard per carry average and has 14 TDs rushing, while adding 1,025 yards passing with 16 TDs. For all of their accomplishments on the field though, they are even better kids off the field. Both come from great families and are yes ma'am, no ma'am type of kids and also do well in the classroom as well. Wake Forest is getting a gem in Claiborne and whatever school that ends up with Robinson is also getting a stud as well. On top of his offensive accolades, Robinson was also the District Defensive POY as well. Looking forward to next week against a tough Nottoway team on the road, but I know the Cavalier Nation will travel well and support this great group of kids in their quest for the Region A Championship and God willing, 3 more games.
