The Islanders won games 1 and 2. Madison then won games 3&4. MC survived 4 match points in game 4 to win 30-28 to force a fifth set. MC fell 15-11 in the 5th set. All the games were outstanding and close. Madison finished 26-2.

25-21, 25-20, 25-27, 28-30, 15-11. Poquoson scores listed first.

Huge, raucous crowd. MC brought 4-5 bus loads of students and 2 private buses. Great environment...great experience for both teams.

It was definitely a great atmosphere...know anything about Radford? Based on their record, they're not nearly as good as last year, but that can be deceiving....

Radfords record may be deceiving. They lost to Giles 2X who won the regular season and finished 21-4. They lost 2X to Floyd County but returned the favor in Region Final and State Semis. They lost 2X to 3A Carroll Co who finished 17-7 and lost in Region Semis to Hidden Valley. They lost to 5A Patrick Henry (12-5) and to Lord Botetourt who is not only looking for their 3rd straight State Title, they have not lost as much as a set the entire season. Radford may not be as good as last year, they are fairly young this year, but they really have not had a bad loss either.

Thanks for the information...that was a tough loss for Poquoson. This was a golden opportunity for the Islanders and I really thought they'd win, but I guess it wasn't meant to be...based on who they had returning, this one will sting for a while.
