MANDATORY READING FOR EVERY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYER

I have already posted this for many years. Recruiting usually begins and ends based of the relationships between HS and College Coachs. Camping is way, way over rated and usually a waste of money. They're selling you a dream, not getting you exposure.

I can understand people don't believe it when I say it. Perhaps if Urban Meyer is telling you the same thing, it may grab your attention.

Here's some more to hit just a few fallacies:

  1. Stats and numbers used to measure on field accomplishments have meaning to recruiters.
  2. College Scouts randomly attend games to find area talent.
  3. Offers come because you've been Scouted and your games have been attended by the teams that offered you.
  4. Grades don't matter much if you have the talent.
  5. Sending video links or DVR's to various Colleges get you noticed.
  6. Parents need to do all they can to sell their kid
Great Masters this weekend. Plenty of televised Spring Games over the next few weeks. I would suggest to check your local College schedules and attend one of these with the whole family. Kids get a great experience, entrance is almost always free and it gets the wife out of the house. Don't forget to make a stop at one of the local antique stores you will invariably see along the way and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner out. The brownie points you receive off a day like this go a long way and you get to scratch to your football itch with College level players.

In addition, there's usually an opportunity to get purchased items signed and really good seats right on the sidelines (VT is usually difficult for these close up seats however). It helps gives you some perspective. By perspective, I mean that you can stand on the sideline for a HS game and think you could survive a hit from most of these kids and get back up. Placed in The same situation at the next level, you start to realize you'd be dead before you hit the ground. Something to remember if you think your kid can play.

I highly recommend this day outing. This is way better than those on here that can't wait and prefer to take their Viagra at least 4 months too soon. Good luck with that.
