Well I got 2 west teams playing in state championship game unless upset happens.
MV -7
LB -8
Those are official Vegas lines lol

Just messing round with Salem/JF game doing same thing and has Salem -8 , just having fun with it.
And assuming the numbers are correct on max preps.
MV vs LB : MV averages 44 points a game, LB averages 38 points a game/ MV averaged 17 points against, LB averaged 11 points against/ This game is a PICK
SALEM vs LT:
Salem averages 47 points a game, LT averages 47 points a game, Salem averaged 12 points against, LT averaged 15 points against, My prediction: SALEM wins in nail biter
PS:
im not a salem fan but numbers never lie

Sometimes numbers do lie. Please compare the schedules. No offense to either team, but the regular season schedule does not even compare. LT would likely given up less than 21 points total with Salems regular season schedule.

I did see MV this weekend. They have a very good team. Liked the accuracy of the qb. He does a good job of sliding his feet to get angles on passes. Scales is an athlete with tons of upside. Needs to channel his emotions a bit. Could cost MV next week. My only concern was the play calling once they had the big lead. They got away from the success they were having which led to some long third downs. Defensively, they gave up the middle (post routes). Cant do that with a good passing team. Good win for the Warriors and good fan support. I for one left impressed with their program.

I don't know much about LB but I hope it will be a good game.

As for Salem vs Lake Taylor; Salem might be in trouble if their speed hasn't improved.

I need to put my thoughts together to post a good synopsis, but I do believe Salem can challenge LT in some facets of the game. Will post something tomorrow on the 4a board.

The LB vs. MV game will be a tough battle. LB will attempt to impose their might and MV will use speed to attack the flanks. LB faced a similar style offense this past week and shut down a very good offensive team in Hopewell. Both teams will need to play strong for the entire game. Neither MV or LB scored in the second half. Maybe the coaches need to keep the foot gas.

Yeah, your'e right. Salem will look like they are running in quicksand compared to LT. I look for LT to dominate from start to finish. LT can probably name the score.

I think this is way out there as far as a pick is concerned.

Salem is a very, very good squad. Don't, like me, underestimate what they can do. If they put in a performance like Saturday's, LT will have their hand's full.

The games in Lynchburg next weekend should be very entertaining and have more of my attention this year than the other classifications. Good luck to all 4 teams on competitive contests and everybody coming out safely. As far as my guesses go, in the MV/LB game the team that does the best job of protecting the football (i.e., no turnovers) should prevail. I think the teams are evenly matched. Salem has closed the gap with LT, however, I think LT is still a favorite to win. With the strong sophomore class Salem will be a favorite sometime in the near future although maybe those youngsters arrive a year earlier than I expect. This is round two of what is shaping up as a potentially long running sequel.

Question is who was better.. Pheobus or hopewell? MV clicking right now but LB had impressive win..a turnover decides it..

S

Salem has improved speed everyone forgets jefferson forest beats Courtland. I saw both games. Courtland does not stop navy Jones Salem did
I don't agree but there's no question Salem did stop JF. Those early stops for the Spartans were huge. They'll perform well against The LT offense. But I don't think anyone has the defensive team speed LT does. I feel this will be a close game and very competitive. Either team can win this one.

but don't you think once a team plays over 10 games the numbers are pretty accurate? Teams will play weaker teams and stronger teams and at this point of season I think the numbers are not definite but at least close. You tried to make that point with Hopewell but as you seen the numbers were bout right. I had MV at -7 and without the safety that woulda hit perfect. After watching Salem play JF and watching LT film , I think it will be a close game. I'm gonna guess the MV vs LB will be a close one, MV lost one of there best DL against Phoebus so that hurts also.

Im with you on MV Shades. They defend the rush well. Tons of weapons on the offensive side of the ball.

I dont think Salem will pile up points on LT. Can they play them tough? Possibly. Will address this a bit later.

I'm not sure if Lythgoe is going to be ready against MV? He hurt his surgically repaired knee against Hopewell in the 4th. He will be a huge hit to LB should he not be able to go? Who from MV DL got hurt ShadesMcgrades? I didn't see that?
#73 went out with a knee injury in the first quarter. Looked bad.

It was pena. Not sure if he will be back.

Yeah Pena is solid in the middle, he is really a player that no one talks about but I've watched him play for last couple years and he's is a tough kid. He would really stop things up on DL against LB if he was playing, but next man up, he was out against JF also

Shades I think he is a rb/lb. If he can't play it would be a loss of a talented player but this time of year there are alot of teams dealing with injuries. All you can do is say next man up and do the best you can. LB will be ready to go and will give MV all they want Saturday, hope the Warriors are ready to play.

I dont know what you guys being seeing but Magna Vista ready! Once the playoff started them young men have came together and handle their business No disrespect to LB or them kids but if Magna Vista come out and play like the know they can play this game will get ugly quick and fast. You got to be a balance team to beat MV running the the ball 25 to 30 times want get it done cause the defense is to good for that.

I totally agree with this. If MV comes out and plays like they are capable of, I don't think the game will be close at all....MV wins by at least 3 TD's. Hey Samdaman300, tell em about the gun line boss! lol
