No one talks about Class 3

I think(or maybe just hope) the current crop of coaches will stick around. I don't think many guys have had success after leaving though.

like who?
tell me some RVA coaches that were snapped up by the county, but wasn't successful until after they got him.

Yes, very unfortunate and sad for quarterback Tatum, this is also the information that I received. The sophomore quarterback is good but will need time and time is short with only 3 weeks left in the season, Hopewell defense is really solid but I don't believe they can make a deep playoff run with off Tatum. Wishing them well and a speedy recovery for Tatum, he committed to Hampton so we will hear from him again.
This is horrible to hear.

Who do people think is going to win in the Armstrong/Tee Jay matchup? Both teams being undefeated so I have to think that will be a hot ticket next week.

TJ is higher ranked based on a tougher schedule but it is only about 4 points. If I had to bet my money is on TJ.

What is behind the turn around at Armstrong? Three years ago they didn’t win a game.
Coach? A slug of good athletes passing through?

Most schools have athletes just walking the halls. They need to have a coach they believe in to come out and play. Kids these days do not play for the "Ole Alma Mater" in fact these new schools don't even sing an alma mater.

Unfortunately only one of them TJ or ARMSTRONG Can make it to the championship game or have a chance at making. Out of there bracket.

that will be the case for the foreseeable future; both will be dropping down to 2C-Region A.

I think you read what I said wrong. I was saying the guys who left richmond didn't have success after they left. PJ Adams started to build up Godwin but left early. Same with Chad Hornick at Deep Run. Those are the only ones I know that had success after leaving RPS and that was short lived.

Phillip Simms! Left John Marshall for Tucker and Princess Anne. Had more wins at John Marshall than both of these schools combined.

Northwestern 3A update:

My Falcons were able to end their skid and pull one out against Brentsville which puts right back into the playoff hunt. It would mean a lot for coach Downs to lead us to the playoffs in year 1 even if it is due to the back end of the region being weak. Makes me think that we might have been able to be a 4 or 5 seed if we had just held on against Culpeper and James Wood. Don't even get me started on the Warren County loss. No chance against Kettle Run this week but I believe we will make the playoffs with a win the following week against Meridian.

Brentsville has a big game this week against Skyline, winner likely gets to host a playoff game. If Brentsville loses they will limp into the playoffs at 4-6 because they have Kettle Run week 11. Skyline on the other hand has the chance to finish 7-3 if they beat Brentsville. Since getting beat by Kettle Run 62-0 they have outscored opponents 148-23 and gone 4-0.

Good info, thank you sir.

I really can't wait until they get a chance to play against a Graham or Union and the other SWVA schools. I got a feeling somebody is going to get shellshocked one way or the other.
Might be barking up the wrong tree with Graham. Grahams talent the next 5 years is through the roof with upcoming D1 kids. Graham is and has been loaded with D1 kids and they aren't your normal run of the mill Class 2 school. Ask Goochland the last year or 2 before they moved up to Class 3 about Graham. They were talen completely apart. TJ/Armstrong will have more worries getting out of the region against teams like King William and Poquoson and winning the semifinals game long before tangling with a school from southwest VA.

Adams still at school but was promoted.

Oh no I 100% respect Graham and some of the other SWVA schools. I just think it will be a new dynamic for that class and the matchups will be very interesting.

Down here in SWVA our only Class 3 school took down a fine Union team tonight 28-21 @ Big Stone Gap.

Yeah Union is Class 2 but they're mighty tough, probably the 3rd best team in SWVA.

Abingdon's only loss this year, so far, is to Class 5 Tennessee High (Bristol).

Northwestern updates:

Kettle Run did what was expected against my Falcons. It is going to take a lot of excellent coaching and hard work to get on their level anytime soon. For now, my Falcons have to find a way to regroup and win a defacto playoff game against Meridian. If we win, they we go back to the playoffs for the first time in a long time. I suspect that we have found enough offense to get it done.

Kettle Run will run over Brentsville and it looks like the top 4 in the region based on power points will be Tee Jay, Kettle Run, Armstrong, and Skyline. If Brentsville, Goochland, Culpeper, and JM were closer to their recent/historic levels this would be a fantastic region. Instead the 5 seed is going to a Brentsville team that is lucky to have 4 wins.

Armstrong will be tough game for Kettle Run in round 2 but I think we are headed to a battle of 12-0 teams for the Region title down in Richmond. That will be a treat to see.

No big surprises as the top 4 in the region took care of business.

Skyline is riding a 7 game win streak into this week's game at TJ, they played my Falcons awhile ago and we got beat pretty bad. No really impressive wins during this run so it is tough to know if they stand a chance against what looks to be a fantastic TJ team. Skyline lost 62-0 to Kettle Run so I can't really decide if they were just awful that day and pretty good otherwise or whether they have been fortunate to play a string of lesser teams and taken advantage. I think TJ wins this game by a pretty comfortable margin.

Armstrong is headed to Kettle Run. The Cougars are kind of banged up as their star RB didn't play last week. Not sure if they just didn't need him and sat him as a precaution or if this is more of an issue. Paper said he was going to be fine and he didn't have a boot or crutches. Friends of mine that follow the program closely say that he is going to play. That being said, their back-up running backs are big time players as well. I will admit that I don't know a ton about Armstrong but I would be really surprised if they were able to come up here and get a win this year. I saw them last year and they were good and probably should have beaten a banged up Brentsville team but they would have to be twice the team they were then to win against this Cougar squad. I have seen Kettle Run decimate basically everyone offensively this year including full strength Handley (who beats Salem this past weekend if healthy) and Sherando (still playing) squads. I think Kettle Run wins this one by a couple scores at least.
