Phoebus Heavily talented, but undercoached...

Well since you're not in the program you aren't in the program to know what happened. In those early losses the offense at LT was MARRIED to the veer with very little passing. With all those athletes if you were just running left and right and playing good defense any deficit was killer. In 2006 the offense was handed over to the younger coaches as the former OC had left.

2008 regional final was our first big playoff game as a staff because up until that season LT hadn't won a playoff game in years and we got beat flat out 14-0 by a dominant Phoebus team, but we learned a lot about Phoebus defense and then Coach Dee left.

2009 regional final we had Phoebus on the ropes and winning by 3 which should have been 7 but our kicker missed an xp and a chip shot fg. Phoebus kicks the fg to tie. We score first in ot miss xp Phoebus scores nails theirs.

2011 2nd round we go up 17-7 at the half and Tony Pittman ran hard in the 2nd half and we couldn't finish drives and lost 20-17 with Phoebus making a kick with no time left. That team was very young we had a lot of kids that were Soph that were staring as in 2010 we went with a youth movement which lead to us going 7-4 and losing to Hampton in the first round.

2012 we had a lot of motivation and the talent returning that had that bad loss from the previous year in their mouth.

I think what happened at LT was more of a philosophy change because sure Hank didn't beat coach Dee, but we had Stan on the ropes and should have won both games just blew it. I don't put that on coaching in 2008 and 2009 we had to go through Stan and Warwick both years and those teams were very athletic. As an offensive staff we got better and having a QB like Delmon Williams who could not run the option, but throw the hell out of the ball was a plus.

My point exactly. LT never beat Phoebus under Dee or Sexton and those games were close, not 54- 0 blowouts. You gave great details, and I'm aware of all the games between LT and Phoebus. You forgot to mention in 2002 you guys almost cameback to beat Phoebus when they had Adibi, Brown and Lewis.

In 2009 and 2011 you guys couldve won but in 2009 Phoebus used a methodical ball control ground game to grind out the comeback win on its final drive..Phoebus philoshophy and excellent coaching.

In 2011, LT had the momentum but at halftime Sexton made the adjustments and LT suffered another loss.

2012, you guys had the motivation to win, but you guys had it in 2006, you had it in 2008, you had it in 2009 and 2011 too. 2012 was LT's year, but if history serves me correctly every game was played close except for 2012 LT won 54-0 and 2006 Phoebus won 26-0. LT was not 54-0 points better than Phoebus in 2012 in my opinion, they were however better than the Phoebus team. I hear your logic, and no disrespect to you or the LT program. The fact is that LT never beat a Dee or Sexton coached team. That is a fact. Another fact is that LT has blown Phoebus out in 2 games under Blunt 54-0 and 42-14. I dont think that happens under Dee or Sexton, but thats my opinion.

BTW coach, I know football. I played at Phoebus during the early 90's, I've coached at the high school level and college level and I kept up with football in the eastern region, however you are right though, i wasn't in the program to know what was going on internally coach, but what I do know is what I saw...it is what it is... Good luck the rest of the year!
