Is that reminiscent of Tidewater officiating normally? There seemed like there was laundry on the field almost every play in the last part of the first half. Phoebus looks physically superior to Hampton much like Hampton looked against their opponents in their heyday.

Lately yes but many of the flags for PF are justified.

While some of that might be expected in a city rivalry game and I am not questioning the justification, when you're dropping flags on every play, particularly for controllable player behavior, that tells me officials AND coaches need to step in. Call both coaches over, tell them if they cannot control their players you will via disqualification. A clean or semi-clean game between these two has the potential to be entertaining but, a flag fest is more like a root canal.

Hence, I left the stadium. I don't have an answer for the PFs but 22 flags in the first half is painful. I'm now watching from a more comfortable position at home.

Beyond frustrated by these refs. I HATE saying that too because I’m not the blame the refs type of fan but enough is enough. Watching bogus personal foul and pass interference calls while blatant holds aren’t being called is making it hard to watch these games. It’s not just Phoebus games too. These refs in the Peninsula District are awful.

I couldn't take it any longer. On top of a couple of uncomfortable gym injuries I was not sitting in the sun to watch National Flag Day. Some flags were not thrown until the plays were over. I understand the refs want to maintain control and prevent fighting but they simply ruined this game. They threw multiple flags even as halftime arrived.
