Playoff Numbers

Four playoff spots in D2 for 15 teams... I am thinking that a 6 team format where 1 and 2 get a bye week, 3 plays 6, 4 plays 5, and then week two has four team playoffs would be fairer.

But then again, if Portsmouth and NSA petition to drop down to D3, that would make for fewer D2 teams next year.

I think that if VISAA is going to have 15 teams in a division, and only take 4 teams to the playoffs then they need to go back to 4 divisions. If they expand the playoffs, I am good with 3 divisions. I also am a believer in making teams play a minimum of 75% of your games in your division. I agree that it is hard to schedule because teams move or asked to move every year because their numbers drop.

I'm pretty sure it was PC and Greenbrier Christian that were petitioning to move down. I know private school numbers are generally down everywhere but that would be a big drop for NSA (a former D2 school under the old four division format).
