Very sad news! It was just announced that former Hanover Hawk and JMU tight end Martin Dean Cheatham (30 years old) has died in a car accident. Martin played with Hanovers current head coach Sam Rogers and his brother Clayton Cheatham (2012-15 QB) is currently on the Hawks coaching staff. Martin played on Hanovers first Capital District championship team. He was also a former assistant coach at Austin Peay and Western Carolina. Prayers up for the Cheatham and Hanover Hawk family.

Prayers up to Hawk Nation. I remember Deane and Sam Rogers were two of the most physical players that Phoebus had ever lined up against in a wet Mudbowl in the 2009 State Semis. They were tough and great young men. RIH, Deane!

Very sad news. Prayers up for the family and his entire network of friends. Such a tragic story. Much too young.
