Princess Anne and Kempsville Both Advance

#1 seed Princess Anne and #4 seed Kempsville will face each other for a 3rd time this season after both teams won Region semi-final games.

Princess Anne had no trouble dispatching First Colonial 73-45 behind 38 points from freshman Styles Clemmons. senior Will Bland had 12 of his 15 points in the 1st half when the Cavaliers jumped out to a 39-27 lead.

Clemmons put on a scoring clinic and is a bucket maker. He had two treys and three steals.

First Colonial pulled to within 13 in the 3rd quarter but could get no closer. Senior Romeo Steverson led the team with 15 points and eight rebounds while John Lane added 13 points and six rebounds.

The Cavaliers will face Kempsville in the Class 5 Region A semi-finals after a hard fought 67-59 win over Indian River. The game was back-and-forth thru the 1st three quarters and was still tied 42-42 with 1:35 to go in the 3rd quarter

Kempsville ended the 3rd quarter with the lead and built the lead to 10 midway thru the final period. Indian River made a late push led by senior Cameron McClean and reduced the lead to five with a minute to go. The Braves could not convert on a couple of trips and Kempsville held on for the win.

Junior Emmanuel Angila led Kempsville with 22 points including 11 in the 4th quarter. Landon Fore was 8 of 8 from the free throw line and finished with 16 points and five rebounds. Dimarion Collins (pictured below) had a big 4th quarter and finished with seven points, seven rebounds and two assists.
