Rappahannock Raiders dominate 2021 Spring Sports in Region A

The Rappahannock Raiders look to be the King of Region A 2021 Spring Sports.

Rappahannock High School will host the Region A Championships in Soccer, Softball, and Baseball this Friday.

Soccer and Softball at 5 pm. Baseball at 7 pm.

Track and Field - several Rappahannock athletes will compete in states at JMU this Friday.

Soccer - Washington and Lee v Rappahannock (Raiders won over Mathews 5-0 in the semis)

Softball - Mathews at Rappahannock (Raiders won over Northampton 8-0 in the semis)

Baseball - Essex at Rappahannock (Raiders won over Lancaster 9-7 in the semis)

Only the winners advance to states this year.

Lastly, in an enjoyable and amusing side note (at least to me anyway.... some of you may recall what the Middlesex leadership did at the recent Rappahannock at Middlesex Volleyball Region A Championship - with only the winner advancing to states).

In soccer action last week, Rappahannock and Middlesex played for the #1 seed and homefield advantage in this week's upcoming playoffs. Both teams came into the game undefeated.

Well, Rappahannock was up 9-0 at halftime.....

Not to mention, their girls tennis team finished as state runners up

Soccer - Rappahannock wins 2-0 over W&L

Softball - Rappahannock wins 3-1 over Mathews

Baseball - Essex wins 4-2 over Rappahannock
