I’m hurt!!!I noticed it days ago but it turned out to be sort of a game to see who would be the first to point it out. I should have known it would you, lol!

Complimenting your attention to detail, not insulting.I’m hurt!!!
NO NO NO, thank you.Don't take this the wrong way, it s meant to be funny, BUT instead of making DC a state, just incorporate Fairfax Co. into the Disctric!! It would solve soooo much!
You know me Danny, I catch a bunch of stuff. I don't know why really. Maybe it's because I read so many reports and such on a daily basis. And I also produce a lot of written words every day. My secretaries tease me about how much red ink I use up daily on what they give me to proof.Complimenting your attention to detail, not insulting.
can't be the man until you beat the man - so HSHS until further notice!Hey 804 guys....is it really a 2 horse race between HSHS and Herm in Region C? Or can a PG, Deep Run, Glen Allen, or Bird crash the party? If so, who is the likely team to do it and why?
My takeaway from this is you're killing it so much in he electrical business that you go a have a secretary. You know me Danny, I catch a bunch of stuff. I don't know why really. You know how elementary school teachers occasionally post something humorous that one of their students has written? Well, my guys are famous for destroying the written word. Proper spelling is just a pipe dream. One of my favorites was when one of my electricians had to write on a job sheet that he had repaired "the foyer light fixture". I guess he did the best he could when he dutifully wrote that he had replaced the light in the 4er!!!
I tell my young guys that I didn't hire them for their writing skills. In fact, I tell them that I didn't hire them for their electrical skills. I insist that I just keep them around in case I need a liver or kidney of something. The most naive of them avoid me as much as possible.
no time in the foreseeable future. Please, no. Not 7 classes. But it is going to become an issue with the growth in NOVA. I have always thought 6 classes was too many and preferred 5, perhaps even 4. I understand I am probably in the minority with this opinion and I also don't think there is any way the VHSL will ever reduce the number.
SBOEDog: I'd say it's a two horse race for the foreseeable future. Springs / Herm then everyone else...PG had a great year, need to see it more consistently; love the GA staff; Deep Run - I feel will be way down; Clover Hill has talent to make noise; be good to see Bird return to relevance; Midlothian on the rise; as someone mentioned Freeman beating HSHS on JV may bode well for the future; Meadowbrook is 0 for the last 3 years; not sure about JRT and Godwin...I think that's everyone.Hey 804 guys....is it really a 2 horse race between HSHS and Herm in Region C? Glen Allen should be good. They’ll play Herm hard regardless and showed that they could hang around with the Springers. I think Herm and HS are probably your interchangeable 1 and 2 (until they play one another in November), but Glen Allen will be right behind them. I’m interested in seeing Godwin’s progression. I think they’re going to be pretty good if Adams can put his stamp on the program. I’d have Herm and HS at the top, PG, Midlo, Clover Hill and Glen Allen as my second tier, Freeman is my second.5 tier and Godwin and Deep Run third tier, and Bird, Tucker, and MBK at the bottom.SBOEDog: I'd say it's a two horse race for the foreseeable future. I don't know how many have heard that HSHS just won 1st place the Penn State 7v7 tournament with 50+ teams in the mix. The rising Sophomore QB Henley is going to be a super star at HSHS!are we changing our prediction now?
Yes! HS beat them in the SemifinalsYes, we are changing it from HSHS & Herm then everyone else to HSHS then everyone else, lol...
Springer 76: Did they play Life Christian? I saw they went 8-1...wondering if the 1 was against the Springers.
Can't count out the Springers. I remember the post game after the championship game Coach Johnson although disappointed was smiling ear to ear when asked about the Fall.So... people talk like, because HS's offense wasn't great and the jv team lost their 1st game in 6 years, they won't be as strong in fall 2021.
Side note to ponder.
Last week HS played in the Penn State camp and 7v7. HSHS won the 7v7 tournament there going 9-0. Beating these teams in the process.
Dematha DC, Good Council MD, Archbishop NJ, Life Christian (Chester, va) in the semifinal and Neuman-Goretti of Philly in the championship game.
To me, I'm thinking the Springer offense, especially qb and wr positions will be back and in a big way...
The QB at this 7 on 7 was another rising SOPH Kristian Martin! Another stud QB that certainly opened some eyes. 1 int in 9 games. He,Henley, and Nassir are gonna be one heck of a QB battle. All 3 are very tall, accurate, and fast! They have 4 serious targets. This rising sophomore qb name Jakyre Henley is special!, has rifle for an arm, accurate and he can run. He is the nephew of DJ Johnson (class of 2014) qb. DJ was starting qb at St. Augustine U all 4 years and is being tutored by him!
Well the season is done, no football till August. When we pick back up in August, Region 5B will look much different.
For starters Region 5B will be made up of schools from the 757 while the Richmond Region schools move to a 12-team Region C.
Then there is the fact that Manchester will be leaving for Region 6A.
Then there is the fact that Atlee, Henrico, Matoaca and Varina will be in a 17-team Region 4B.
So if things indeed return to normal, what 8 teams make the playoffs being as Henrico, Manchester and Varina... three perennial playoff participants will be playing elsewhere.
Here is my Way Early Top 8...
Highland Springs
Hermitage
Midlothian
Prince George
Clover Hill
Glen Allen
Deep Run
LC Bird
Let's hear yours?
Sorry, but I cannot help but shake my head when I read your comments about Highland Springs. i’m not quite sure you know what they really have. You say they won’t be as good, but this is the first time in their history, that I can remember, going back to 1975,that they have a quarterback with a Big 10 offer(Maryland). That sophomore is the first quarterback to come through Highland Springs with a power 5,D1 offer to play QB. Maybe he’ll flop, but I wouldn’t count on it with the weapons at his disposal. We’ll see,but they are the CLEAR team to beat.1. HSHS - They will be very good, but not as good as most of the teams the past 6-7 years. Pernell and Johnson might be Pros.
2. Hermitage - Is the only team in 5C that could compete with HSHS. Coney is the best skill player in 5C.
3. Glen Allen - Lost some great players but they have a very good squad coming back. The have the hardest part of their schedule in weeks 1-4. If they go 2-2 or better, I don't see any way GA is not at least 7-3. Zach Chambers is one of the best LBS in the 804.
4. Prince George - PG is set up to have a big year with QB Johnson and RB Allen returning. PG has a big and physical OL led by Wesley Bostick. PG benefits from Central district being down in comparison to the last few years.
5. Midlothian - Hard to tell what Midlothian will look like bc they lost a lot of talent from last year. Midlothian's best players are juniors and they might be a year away from challenging the top 4. Midlothian plays PG, Clover Hill and Bird the first 3 weeks, those games will have a huge impact on 5C.
6. Douglas Freeman - I really like what I have seen from Coach Bland since Coach Henderson took the job at Powhatan. Freeman is well coached and as usual do not play a difficult schedule.
7. Bird - Some people might be surprised by the Bird pick, but they still have athletes and a coach that has won before. RB Trevor Schultz is not on the roster, but I do not know if he is playing at Bird. Schultz has been impressive the 2-3 times I saw him play. DL Devin Ford is a D1 kid.
8. Clover Hill - It will be a rebuilding year for the Cavaliers who lost almost all of their top players not named Bryson Jennings. Clover Hill underachieved last year and will be interesting to see how they bounce back.
That’s not what I meant. He stated they won’t be as good as the previous 6-7 years, but those previous years never had a QB with a power 5 offer,so we’ll have to wait & see. FCS isn’t Power 5. That is all I was saying. This is the first quarterback to ever come through Highland Springs with a power five division one offer, and that’s why I think this team may be a little better than the teams of the last six or seven years, but I may be wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong! LOLYeah, how dare he rank HSHS #1 with some minor reservations!
CAN’T HE COUNT THE OFFERS???
Not always! If the QB is below avg,all the count in the world don’t matter! 🤯“Just count the offers!” is what I always say. Trust the offer count!
RVA804 put together the best preview I’ve seen and he could teach the bias 804 writers a little something at VA Preps. Get out of your feelings Hoosprings! Real Springs fans will tell you that HS isn’t as strong as they have been but they’ll still be a contender. I think the biggest thing this year is the gap between HS and everyone else has decreased. Not saying that they won’t be good, but there’s some good teams in 5C.Sorry,but I cannot help but shake my head when I read your comments about Highland Springs. i’m not quite sure you know what they really have. Maybe I’m in my feelings but Highland Springs got better from the spring! I’m quite sure you know how much talent is up in the DMV area in the Maryland DC area. Yet,Maryland wants this RVA qb. So does ODU. Now I might be wrong, but I don’t see any other schools out there with a power 5 Offered quarterback. Please correct me if I’m wrong. All the WRs are back from the Spring. Losing 2 Oklahoma recruits hurt but they are replaced by 2 more power5 players. I guess there’s a difference between a Oklahoma commit and a Oklahoma offered player. Idk! A Oklahoma DE being replaced by a Jr with big 10/ACC offered DE. Please tell me HOW anyone thinks this team took a step back or they “decreased” the distance of the rest of the 5c region. The summary was good but a preseason top 100 national ranking tells me they are just as good as the previous 7 years and prob better than most of those years. The yr them & Manchester won it all, they were another level, but this yr may be better than a few of the title teams, but only time will tell. Mehki Becton doesn’t come sling very often for anybody,so I’ll agree, the line play is a step below those teams! I know that our Soph. QB is on the radar from Clemson and Oklahoma. I gotta give RVA804 credit, it was well written and I enjoyed reading it.RVA804 put together the best preview I’ve seen and he could teach the bias 804 writers a little something at VA Preps. HS had a good showing at South Co. today in pouring rain. 2 excellent teams going at it! HS did score 2 td's to 0 for SCo.I gotta give RVA804 credit, it was well written and I enjoyed reading it.
I am curious though about your belief that we at VirginiaPreps are bias towards Highland Springs? I do not feel as though I am, I just report facts and since 2015 there has been no better team in Region 5B, now 5C than that of Highland Springs. Coaching, talent, record speaks for itself.
Varina challenged Highland Springs in 2019 and came out on top. I believe in the Spring had Manchester and Highland Springs been able to play the Lancers would have come out on top.
I truly hope that there can be a challenger to Highland Springs, it makes for a more entertaining season just as in college we all hope there is someone to challenge Alabama or Clemson or Ohio State.
You fan girl those guys like no other. The only year that HS was above and beyond the 804 competition was 2018. I still don’t believe Manchester’s Chesterfield All Star Team could’ve beaten them that year. There’s been better teams than them in the Region (including this past year) in each of those years (except 2018 though Henrico had a lot of Star power but undisciplined), they just choked when it mattered. Credit HS for winning when it matters.I gotta give RVA804 credit, it was well written and I enjoyed reading it.

Hmmm, interesting. Only 2018 was the only year that HS was above and beyond the 804 competition? I want to hear your explanation on how they won 4 straight State titles from 2015 to 2018. Yes, they were 14-1, 3 times and 15-0 once. In those 4 Championship years we lost in regular season two close ones to Hermitage and one very close to Meadowbrook. Then in those 3 losses, HS revenged all 3 of them in the playoffs, when it counts the most. You fan girl those guys like no other. Bird? Herm? HS wasn’t head and shoulders better than those teams. Loren Johnson made great adjustments in the second meeting of those Herm games in 2015 and 2017. Herm blew it in 2016 (Dave Bedwell’s greatness showed when probably one of his least talented teams beat Herm by 3) and 2017 (Herm had no business losing to HS that year 🤷🏻♂️), they were the best team in the 804 both years. To say HS was that much superior in the 804 is a huge reach. They won when it mattered and that’s all that matters at the end of the day.Hmmm, interesting. Let's hear your view of who was better and when it counted the most?
We beat Bird the last two times we met them in the playoffs. Last time we lost to Bird was in 2014. First round of the playoffs HS was #1 seed, we played Bird at HS. They took the lead with only about 1 or 2 minutes left. HS drove down the field an on 3rd down, we threw an int. which would've been the go ahead. Bird won 25-23 and went on to win their 3rd title in a row. Yes, Bird was good then. Hermitage was too, the whole time Patrick Kane was head coach. They were good, but I'm not sure how to measure "head and shoulders" better. I'd say we were equal, Bird Herm and HS were always the top 3. NOT ANY MORE! They have fallen off, I mean dropped off the map!, HS hasn't done that! Do you realize that since 2015 (6 years) HS is 24-2 the playoffs. In 6 years the only teams we have lost to in the playoffs is Varina (2019) and Stone Bridge in May 2021... I would add Varina in the mix with Hermitage and Bird if you want to go back. ...by the way, that 2018 team was the best team EVER at HSHS! Over 80 years of HS football!Bird? Herm? HS wasn’t head and shoulders better than those teams. Loren Johnson made great adjustments in the second meeting of those Herm games in 2015 and 2017. I agree that they were equal. That 2018 HS was insane. I’d rank them slightly ahead of that 2013 Bird team of the 804 teams I’ve seen in real life. I’d put that 2018 HS team up against the nation’s best that year.We beat Bird the last two times we met them in the playoffs. Last time we lost to Bird was in 2014. Yes! That 2018 team finished in the Top 50 in USA and got a big trophy from The Army. That offense was fierce. I saw HS scrimmage South County in Fairfax today, in the pouring rain. They did look good! Of course it was a controlled scrimmage. Two tough defenses and two pretty potent offenses too. HS scored 2 TDs (1 pass, 1 a run play). South Co. didn't score against our defense. 0 TDs. Khristian Martin threw the ball well in the rain connecting on several passes including the TD. The running game was looking good as well and was impressed with the offensive line play. The scrimmage TDale next week (Thursday).I agree that they were equal. That 2018 HS was insane. I’d rank them slightly ahead of that 2013 Bird team of the 804 teams I’ve seen in real life. I’d put that 2018 HS team up against the nation’s best that year.
