REGION A REWIND

Essex will look to fix the miscues as they travel for Franklin's season opener.

#3 SUSSEX CENTRAL 8 #6 ESSEX 0
Sussex Central's defense got the job done holding the Trojans to only 59 yards rushing on the night and forced 8 fumbles in which 3 of them Essex lost. Their young secondary played years beyond their time getting 2 interceptions including Malik Lankford's 45 yard interception return for a touchdown. The Tigers will host Lancaster Friday as the Trojans travel to Franklin.

PRINCE EDWARD 52 KING WILLIAM 46
The Cavaliers looked to have the best of Prince Edward early in the blow for blow contest as King William led 30-21 after the 1st quarter. The 3rd quarter was the culprit as King William after leading 38-27 at the half gave up 2 big runs in the quarter and another huge run in the 4th. Marc Gresham tied the game 46 all with his 5th td when then they gave up a 38 yard pass for the winner. Gresham had 182 yards rushing to go with his 5 touchdowns.

CHARLES CITY 28 CUMBERLAND 18
The Panthers got a key win over the Dukes Friday night jumping out to a 20-0 lead. The Dukes would rally but Robert Dobson and the Panthers were too strong to let the lead fade. Richard Adkin's would provide the last score helping Charles City move up to a 28-12 lead. The Panthers(1-0) travel to Courtland to face the Indians of Southampton.

CHINCOTEAGUE 27 WINDSOR 6
The Windsor Dukes are an improved squad and had the Ponies gated up early but the locks came lost in the 2nd quarter. Hayden Pittman hit Nick Donovan for a 10 yard pass to give the Dukes a 6-0 lead after 1. From there penalties and the Ponies rushing attack would be too much as the Dukes were flagged 11 times on the night.

POQUOSON 23 SOUTHAMPTON 7
It was a sensational back versus a running back by committee and the committee exploded in the 2nd quarter. The Islanders didn't do it all by the ground as they got 60 of their 89 yards passing on one play as Colten Hicks scored on the long td from Steven Parker. The duo hooked up again for a 15 yard score before the half. Poquoson had 140 yards rushing while Tyriel Ruffin had 104 and a td.

WASHINGTON & LEE 26 MIDDLESEX 23 OT
After being down 10-0 at halftime, the Eagles soared back into the contest led by Carson Bell and JJ McNeil. Bell would go on a 20-yard run to tie the game at 20 a piece forcing the game into overtime. Bell would use his legs again after a Charger field goal to scat 8 yards for the game winning score. Washington & Lee will now face the Mathew on Thursday and Middlesex plays Rapp.
