As far as I know, the 4 Regions in Class 1 have NOT officially decided on their playoff format.

With only 7 schools that field football teams in Region B, I would assume that the maximum number of teams that will be included in their playoffs will be 6.

Assuming this will be the format, pick the 6 teams that YOU think will be playoff bound after 10 regular season games. I know that this can be a little tough, since only about 1/3 of the teams have released their full schedules.

Pick your teams in order of #1 to #6. And keep this in mind when you rank your teams, VHSL points!
A 3-7 team could well be ranked #2 or #3 because of points.

And, pick the one team that you think may finish as #7, and possibly be on the outside looking in, come playoff time.

This list is in alphabetical order, and comes from the VHSL website.

REGION B, 10 Schools

ALTAVISTA
(Appomattox Regional School does not field a football team)
WILLIAM CAMBELL
(Carver College/Career Academy does not field a football team)
CENTRAL LUNENBURG
CUMBERLAND
(Galileo High School does not field a football team)
STONEWALL JACKSON QUICKSBURG
RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY
RIVERHEADS

Don't know if they will this year or not (I would say not) Cumberland and Rapp County have not played district schedules and were ineligible for post season play. So potentially 5 football playing teams. 4 of those 5 will get in. I cant believe the AD's agreed to this with 16 eligible schools in Region A...

Wow, what a tough situation that region finds itself in.
I had forgotten about Rappahannock not being eligible. But, I did not realize that Cumberland was in the same situation.

Not sure what they will do this upcoming season but yes last year Cumberland was ineligible for the playoffs as they chose not to play a full district schedule.

Not sure why they don't play the full district. They play 6 of the 8, Buckingham and Goochland being the two they don't play. You would think that if they wanted to pull out of the district that they would play a much more competitive schedule than 6 district games.

On the surface, it sounds like a lack of guidance by those in charge. I'll concede that there may be legitimate reason's for this situation, but my money is on just poor adminisrative management.

with the teams in this region.... you have a lot of powerhouses that's why the ADs just said let it be.
Only one will come out as the regional winner
