Hawks didn’t give up and represented Pittsylvania County well. Two small town schools had the gym at capacity before the varsity took the court. Too bad the C4 school, 18 miles away from Reidsville, in Danville won’t play the Rams.

I said the same thing. I'll bet money they turned down the chance to play Reidsville. That's ok though, Northside gonna tap that butt on Wednesday!

I’ve been told by a couple of GW reps that Reidsville wouldn’t play them and it’s going around that they “ducked” GW. Us basketball heads know that that doesn’t add up. Reidsville probably has played the hardest out of conference schedule the past two years ever for a 2A school in NC. Respect to Martinsville and Gretna for stepping up to the challenge. All these people crying about having to play John Marshall, well little ole Martinsville and Gretna played a team on that that level and competed the way young men should.

Bo, I was wondering why GW didn't play Reidsville. Gretna and Martinsville both at least gave it a shot this year. The Rams are just to much to handle. Would love to see a game between JM and Reidsville.
I was hoping for that matchup at the John Wall Invitational but the Rams and Justices were in two different brackets. John Marshall is very good, but I’d have to take Reidsville. It took a little while for Harrison to get back into basketball mode (I agreed with @AntGZee Facebook post about him needing to to get in shape), but he’s looked like the 5 star he is since Christmas break against some good teams. Neal is the next Chris Paul out of NC and the Sharpe kid is so underrated. They are a fun team to watch. All country boys who play with a lot of pride.

Ant, it’ll be ugly IMO. GW isn’t the same GW that started the year off. I’ve watched them about 7 times this year and they’ve digressed. Definitely have the talent in Morrison, Cobbs, and Smith. Too much one on one and iso ball.

I heard that Halifax beat GW the other nite. Well we'll see what's really good Wednesday night, when GW travels up to Roanoke.

I'm not sure what happened with that. It could be a logistics issue as well. I don't think the rams are scared to play anyone, really. But its a shame, the john wall was tough, but the rams are good enough where we could've played a few more good teams.

I doubt very seriously that Reidsville was afraid to play GW. I have heard from a few fans that Reidsville offered to play GW in football and GW punked out. I'm sure if Reidsville would play them in both sports if GW really wanted to.

Reidsville isn’t scared of anybody. Them and Martinsville are the only teams in our area that’ll play anybody, anywhere.

GW and Reidsville played back in the summer at Gretna and it was ugly (so bad they wouldn’t allow the two teams to continue playing). I’m guessing if anything on Reidsville’s end, Coach Ross didn’t entertain it due to how things played out that day at Gretna.

I think that summer game was a factor as well. Kendre didn't play in that match up
