Looked like it was going to be a long night for Richlands all because of one guy. Jordan Sewell. One of the better all around high school receivers ive seen. Very fast, tall and great hands. Very good route runner. Nobody could cover him 1 on 1. He caught 2 td passes to give Virginia a 17-0 lead with the help of some turnovers and penalties by Richlands. Richlands did not attempt a run until the 2nd quarter and started getting big chunks on just about every play. After double teaming Sewell the rest of the night Richlands came back and outscored them 55-3.

Very interesting that they could turn it on like that and just dominate. But my one question I would have is how did this kid score 3 td's to give them a 17-0 lead? Without XP they would have 18

I was impressed by the way Richlands put their foot to the floor once they got behind and just did what ever they wanted once they woke up. They really played well after the 17 to 0 start.
That is why coach Mance hates homecoming with all it's distractions.
Also like the way the coaching staff made adjustments after the 1st qtr and shut down the Va high receiver ( Sewell ) don't believe he had a catch after the 1st qtr, and completely shut down their running game, BUT, the Blues are going to have to start playing from the start of the game. This is 2 weeks in a row that they have come out flat in the 1st qtr. That will eventually catch up to them if they don't get that fixed.
I'm sure Mance and company will address that this week. They are so balanced and can be very explosive when they are clicking.
Their D, especially the front 7 are very good and hard hitting, but early in a couple of games they have gave up some big plays ( usually passing ), but I will say that the kid from Va high ( Sewell ) is the real deal and has the size ( 6' 4" ), speed and great hands and runs really good routes. He has the ability to play at the next level, not sure what division, but can play at the college level.
BIG test next week for the Blues with Bluefield coming up ! Better not come out flat next week.
They can beat Bluefield, but will need to play all 4 qtrs.

Sewell does have great size and hands, not sure about the speed though. Decent speed for his size. Definitely not the 4.6 40 he has listed on his Hudl. I expected to see faster players on Richlands' defense with the way they've been shutting teams down scoring wise (besides Union), but I don't really see it on video.

I would disagree with you that he is not a 4.6 because two of those Richlands guys you seen him get by run a 4.6 forty rather easily. We have five or six guys that run a 4.6 forty. I know that's not uncommon in some areas of the state but for Richlands its a lot. Over all the best team speed we have had in thirty years and maybe ever.

Pretty much the highlights but I watched all of the Union game. That kid can throw it around I like that.
