John Marshall Class of 2016 guard Jeremy Carter-Sheppard has pulled in his latest offer from the East Carolina Pirates of the American Athletic Conference.
The reigning Group 3A State Player of the Year, Carter-Sheppard is now in double-digit offer territory with Cincinnati, Duquesne, Hampton, Longwood, Miami (Ohio), Mount St. Mary's Old Dominion, Richmond and UNC-Wilmington on the table for the 6-foot-1 sharp shooter. Several others, including nearby VCU, are expressing strong interest and could be on the verge of joining that list down the road.
This season, Carter-Sheppard is averaging 15.9 points, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game with a marquee performance coming in a 63-50 loss to Cape Henry at the Virginia Slamfest where he exploded for 30 points. He's led John Marshall to a 10-2 record thus far.
As a sophomore, Carter-Sheppard helped John Marshall win its first state basketball title in 60 years with 27 points, five treys, four assists and four steals in the 74-56 Championship win over George Wythe. He averaged 19.6 points per game and made 103 three-pointers on the season, more than anyone else in Virginia at the public or private school level.
