In what was the poorest played game by Rye Cove this season the War Eagles escaped Eastside with a 48-36 victory over The Spartans. Rye Cove shot themselves in the foot with several turnovers and absolutely poor tackling. Number 12 for Eastside looked mighty slippery as it seemed every time he touched the ball he was going to break at least 2 or 3 tackles. It was a back and forth affair and it seemed as if all the big plays were coming from Eastside. They had multiple big runs, a couple nice pass plays and as mentioned before a few turnovers. Rye Cove managed a couple of big plays. One long touchdown pass and a long touchdown run from Landon Lane, and a long run from Payton Darnell summed up the big play ability from Rye Cove tonight. The War Eagles will have a little break to fix what went wrong tonight before traveling up to Chilhowie on Thursday the 19th for what is sure to be a good game.
