Ain't no way that area's officials would let a physical team like Louisa come in and run roughshod on Salem, especially if Santa officiates. It would be a flagfest with the game stopped every other play. But I would be surprised if Salem scored more than 1 TD on this Louisa team, and had more than 150 yards of offense without a healthy Wood.So if we’re doing hypotheticals:
Let’s say Louisa played Salem at Salem instead of Martinsburg. Would Salem have gotten beat as bad or worse?
I think the majority on here would have said nah, closer game.

My 120 year old great grandmother is a more reliable source than MaxPreps lolJust for kicks.
maxpreps has Louisa over 1000 on national rankings and Martinsburg over 200
None of those other teams scored more than 1 TD against the full starters, and Louisa had 42 at halftime against Monticello. Chancellor, Monticello, Orange and Fluvanna have better QBs than Salem as well. I'd love to see Salem with any of their QBs. The QBs for each of those teams scored against our starters.Maybe a bit of hyperbole.
Chancellor 13
Massaponax 27
Orange 14
Monticello 14
Fluvanna 11
We know how great you think Louisa is, and a lesser extent Massaponax, but do you really think those other 4 are as good or better than Salem?
This year, today, right now, or this Friday night, Martinsburg would clean their clocks. All of them. It would be ugly.I respect Martinsburg after watching that video about what their football program means to the community. The place is a lot like Danville except their fans support them. However, to say that they’d beat a Manchester, Varina, Highland Springs, Oscar Smith and Louisa is asinine this year.
I watched that Clark vs. Lurray game... You’d know talent for sure....This year, today, right now, or this Friday night, Martinsburg would clean their clocks. All of them. It would be ugly.
Means nothing besides Louisa's opponents need to get better. It takes nothing away from Louisa.Total wins by the opponents in 2019
Salem-33
Martinsburg-32
Louisa-17
If this year's Louisa team is about the same as 2017 Louisa team then the Louisa Martinsburg game would be a good one. However, I would pick Martinsburg by two touchdowns. Salem in 2017 was not as good as 2016 or 2015. They handled 2017 Louisa. The only teams in 4a that I have seen recently that could beat this year's Martinsburg team is Salem 2015.,2016, Lake Taylor 2014, 2015, Dinwiddie 2016, 2013 and the Briar Woods teams.Ain't no way that area's officials would let a physical team like Louisa come in and run roughshod on Salem, especially if Santa officiates. It's Clarke. Luray is spelled with 1 r. Why you bringing them up? They're 2a and this is a discussion about how good Martinsburg is.I watched that Clark vs. Lurray game... You’d know talent for sure....![]()
As DSH said, this year's Louisa is overall better, more balanced and deeper than 2017. I wish the 2017 team had Noah Robinson at WR or Night Train Williams to complement Tony Thurston on the D line.If this year's Louisa team is about the same as 2017 Louisa

Let me educate you real quick big guy. Martinsburg isn’t 4 scores close to any of these 3 teams. Over 25 D1 kids combined at Highland Springs, Manchester and Varina. Throw another 4-5 in for Louisa. It's Clarke. Luray is spelled with 1 r. Why you bringing them up? They're 2a and this is a discussion about how good Martinsburg is.

And after Forge beat them, I posted on the C6 board how WRONG I was but I guess you missed that.A prime example of that is saying nobody could beat Massaponax with their best player back
Where was this?but when asked you said Louisa would still beat them, later saying different to illustrate how great they are.
Because I can tell when some people are making blanket statements without having actually seen us play. They can never give real reasons why they say them. Just like the HSHS fan who said Ponax can't beat Manchester or Varina, but couldn't say why. They clearly pulled that out of their you-know-what. That's like me coming on here saying Louisa would destroy Stuarts Draft or Wilson Memorial without having seen either team play.I dunno maybe its just the way I read your posts, but every one of them comes off as you stating facts instead of opinions, and appearing as if you have more knowledge than others.
Very good point and I agree. I’ve in the past said that Dan River & GW should have did this and that because of the # of offers their kids have... However those two programs are apples and oranges to the teams I mentioned...HS has 5 guys with ACC and SEC offers, Varina has 3 and Manchester will have a couple by the end of the year... They’re built differently. Offers don’t equate to championships or wins but these particular teams would beat Martinsburg 9.5 times out of 10. Too much speed, size, physicality and depth . I tell you what, I’ve been calling it, Varina may just be the best team out of the 3. We’ll see in a few weeks. That could be very true, and doesn't mean you are wrong about them vs Martinsburg, I really don't know or care. But just having a number of D1 players means nothing. Prime example (I think close to your neck of the woods) is 2012 Dan River who was 9-1 with multiple NFL players. And got beaten handily
Spare me your "education". Just learn to spell and stay on topic. "Big guy"?Let me educate you real quick big guy. Martinsburg isn’t 4 scores close to any of these 3 teams. Over 25 D1 kids combined at Highland Springs, Manchester and Varina. Throw another 4-5 in for Louisa.
Lmao!...Offers don’t equate to championships or wins but these particular teams would beat Martinsburg 9.5 times out of 10. Too much speed, size, physicality and depth .
Martinsburg can compete with any 5A or 6A team. Not saying they win but they will bring it!!!Martinsburg would run the table in 4a this year and most years. They’d give highland springs a game similar to Oscar Smith and Manchester might even fare better than those teams did. Let’s be real they’re better than those who haven’t seen them expected. Name the last team to go into Salem stadium and punish the Spartans the way martinsburg did? I love va football but that wva team could play with the best in the state here.
Martinsburg has defeated Briar Woods twice and one of those wins was when McSoreley was the QB.If this year's Louisa team is about the same as 2017 Louisa team then the Louisa Martinsburg game would be a good one. McSoreley was the QB.Martinsburg beat Briar Woods one of the years Briar Woods won the state title in VA.
In the rain in a sloppy 8-7 game that BW had better stats in but Martinsburg scored a 2pt conversion. Plus McSorley was just a freshman.Martinsburg has defeated Briar Woods twice and one of those wins was when McSoreley was the QB.
There is a big talent gap in these teams (Martinsburg vs. HS/Varina/Manchester). D1 has nothing to do with it but it shows just how good those 3 teams are. Highland Springs has won 4 straight championships against some really good teams.. Martinsburg has not played that kind of competition.. Not even close. The Hermitage & Bird teams that Highland Springs beat to win those state championships are proof enough and then to beat Stone Bridge just solidifies it. I would have liked to have seen HS play Salem, Monacan, Dinwiddie and Louisa during those years. To compare kids year to year is irrelevant though. We can only go by who lines up presently.. Who can beat Highland Springs is good and all but we’ll never know cause Louisa nor Martinsburg plays them. You could be right, my point was you saying they arent 4 scores close to any of them and then using the number of D1 players they have

And I don't either, that's just what you want to believe from the way you want to read my posts. I guess I have to put an "in my opinion" before every statement to not confuse/offend you (don't worry, I won't).I am not one who thinks my team is the best team in the state.
I'm just saying. He made a huge leap after that.So what he won the state championship as a freshman
Would love to see that happen. The Turing point for me was when Martinsburg went to State College, PA which is Class 5A in PA and won and played them the following season and won. The last 10 years this program has been playing at a different level. To win 50 games in a row as a Midsize Public HS speaks volumes and deserves respect!!!Martinsburg is Better than any of the fans on this 4A board want to believe. Those briar woods teams were loaded across the board and they definitely throttled the old AA or 4A competition. I just want people to give credit where it’s due. They’re better than a lot of the VA teams, hopefully a team like HS or a bigger power will schedule them. I know they played a few NOVA teams but the rest of VA doesn’t respect NOVA football.
And after Forge beat them, I posted on the C6 board how WRONG I was but I guess you missed that.Where was this?

You people don’t get it, this a very average Martinsburg team by there standards . I have seen 4 or 5 Martinsburg teams better then this one in the last 10 years. I actually believe offensively last years team better, defensively maybe a little better this year. But that’s a big maybeIf this year's Louisa team is about the same as 2017 Louisa team then the Louisa Martinsburg game would be a good one. However, I would pick Martinsburg by two touchdowns.
