Salem VB Favorite to Win Beach District.

After Salem VB beat down of Ocean Lakes, it looks like Matt's prediction is on point for the Sun Devils!! Now, they are also on top of the Class 5 Reg A power rankings over Maury, too.

Looks like it's going to be a very interesting playoff season. If Woodside beats Pheobus this week they will likely join Salem VB and Maury as the 3 undefeated teams. Deep Creek, Nanesmond River and I. River are all capable of upsetting the top teams and making a deep run!

5A is a solid field. I wish we swapped playoffs so B plays A etc before the state semi’s.

HSHS vs Indian River
Varina vs Salem VB
Manchester vs Woodside
Deep Run vs Maury

wouldn’t that be a fun round 2!

I think overall, cross braketing is better. It's done for other sports and i believe it mostly prevents #1 & #2 in the State from playing each other too early.

Looking at the Salem VB W-L record on MaxPreps. Only Princess Anne has scored on them thus far (12 points). They have shut out 2 Class 6 Reg A teams that were in the regional Semi & Finals last year. Each have the ability to do the same this year.

Their remaining games are vs Kellam, Bayside and Cox. So, it's conceivable they could also shut out those 3 team???!!!! That would be a season average of only 1.2 points per game. Would that be a defensive record?
