Sherando is at home. Salem D looks like it might be clicking. Salem O looks Vanilla. Sherando's JV only lost one game. Salem brought up all JV. Spartan vs Warrior. Who will recover from the triptophine dream?!?!?!?!?!

Gobble Gobble.

I predict (as a homer) Sparty 35 Warriors 21. Salem Score late to ICE it. It looks ICEY for the weather, too.

Sherando Defense is the best in the Region. Warriors finally convince the doubters.
Just curious other than Sherando faithful @Shruikan and @Scalvinscaliwag who has offered any feedback or doubted Sherando? A lot of people questioned Handleys ability to beat Salem, but I think Sherando has been the favorite in both games thus far.

The Warriors are only giving up 10 points a game and as @Shruikan said they are very stingy against the run. It will be the battle of wills as Salem is going to run it and run it some more. Both teams have sound interior lines so the linebacker and secondary corps are keys. I would say Sherando's linebackers are better and Salem's secondary has a slight edge over the Warriors. It sounds like both teams have a key player nicked up, so that may be a key factor.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Spartans lead the series 2-1. There has been one lopsided game in this series (2017). Can Sherando's defense rise to the occasion like in 2013 or will Salem take advantage of the possible wet surface and win another mud bowl like in 1996. Not much difference in these two teams, but Salem consistently makes it to the blood round. Slight edge to Sparta.

In 2013 , Sherando D held Salem to 109 yards rushing in 7-0 shutout at Arrowhead. This is a good defense but nothing like those guys in 2013. They gave up 175 yards last night, 150 of them to the same pitch out play for 3 quarters. They rose up and made some plays in the 4th. They will have to be much better against Salem next week.

I saw Sherando play twice last year in person but I haven’t seen them play this year. Can’t say I know much about the team this year. I remember them having some skilled receivers and good size on the line

@Scalvinscaliwag, could this be the year of the Warrior? I have watched several games and I like this Sherando team. Particularly, their offensive scheme. Some really nice wrinkles to go with the physicality.

This will not be the Year of the State Championship, they are a solid fundamentally sound squad . I give them a punchers chance of being Region Champs though. Salem definitely the favorite. Sherando being at home helps but they give up to many yards on the ground , and don’t have enough dynamic playmakers on offense. Discipline and perseverance might get them one more win.

Sherando JV ducked Martinsburg JV, don’t read too much into that record.

There a game time for this yet? I might make the drive down 81. Not everyday salem comes to the area.

Glass beat Botty, Heritage, and PH Roanoke on top of the Seminole schedule they played. Y’all both sound crazy 😂 none of those teams in the Winchester area play anybody. A lot of Sherando’s relevance a few years back was playing Martinsburg and now they don’t even play anymore.
The answer to that question would be BoKnowsitallSports

Sherando gives up too many yards on the ground?

Did not give up too many against Handley. The line and linebacker were very good. DBs were the weak spot in that game

Handley didn’t have the number one player and Rusher on the field the whole game , I’m not saying Sherando doesn’t have a decent run defense , it is definitely better than the pass defense. But to beat a team like Salem , they give up to many yards. They will have to be better than last night . JF runs the ball 19 out of 20 plays, if it wasn’t for 5 fumbles and a interception last night , could have been a different outcome to the game. That’s my opinion, can’t help if you don’t like it. I’m A Sherando fan , want the team to win. But they will see a really good run offense next Friday night .

I’m really not sure what the point you are trying to make Schoolboard. I agree and have said it was an amazing performance by Handley to almost pull that off down at Salem short handed without all its players. It doesn’t mean it will be that easy for Sherando at home. Two different match ups. And Sherando doesn’t have the dynamic Offense Handley did. They will have to be incredible defensively to win this game is all I am saying.
