Ridgeview 75, (1A) Council 25
The Gabe & Gabe Show once again led the way for the Ridgeview Wolfpack.
Gabe Brown fired in 21 points and Gabe Counts added a dozen points as Ridgeview rolled in the Breaks Interstate Park Classic.
Tyler O’Quin added 10 points for the Wolfpack, which led 23-5 after one quarter.
Caleb Hess had nine points to lead Council.
Richlands 82, (1A) Twin Valley 54
Cade Berry tossed in 19 points as the Richlands Blue Tornado topped Twin Valley in the Hoopalachia Hardwood Classic.
Ethan Shreve added 13 points for the Blues.
Girls:
Ridgeview 66, (1A) Council 20
Bailey Frazier had another sterling performance with 21 points, seven steals and five rebounds as Ridgeview improved to 3-0.
Frazier was 5-for-9 from 3-point range. Nikole Counts (10 points, five rebounds), Brooklyn Frazier (nine points, six assists) and Hailey Sutherland (six points, six rebounds) also played well for the Wolfpack.
Council fell behind 21-10 after the first quarter and it didn’t get any better for the Cobras. They managed just four second-half points.
Lee High 57, (1A) Rye Cove 45
Kandace Quillen played her usual solid game – 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals – as the Lee High Generals earned a non-district victory.
Abbey Middleton (13 points, five rebounds) and Pauline Tolentino (10 points) also played well in the win.
The Generals (2-2) shot 53 percent from the field.
Kaleigh Sloan’s 14-point, six-rebound effort and Katy Roller’s 3 points were tops for Rye Cove.
Lebanon 48, Shelby Valley (Ky.) 46
Kara Long scored 17 points and the Lebanon Pioneers held off Shelby Valley for a win in the Powell Valley National Bank Tip-Off Classic.
Averie Price added 12 points, six rebounds and five assists in the win. Lebanon trailed 28-27 at halftime, but outscored Shelby Valley 16-4 in the third quarter.
Union 57, (1A) Rural Retreat 33
Emili Brooks scored 21 points in continuing her impressive start to the season as the Union Bears rocked Rural Retreat in the Powell Valley National Bank Tip-Off Classic.
Jayda Smith (13 points) and Heather Lipps (12 points, seven rebounds) as Union dominated from the opening tip. The Bears led 21-5 eight minutes into the game.
Michaela Fiscus led Rural Retreat with 14 points. The Indians committed 23 turnovers.
Wise County Central 58, East Ridge (Ky.) 32
Senior post player Dee Cvetnich had 16 points and 12 rebounds to spark Central’s win in the Powell Valley National Bank Tip-Off Classic.
Central held a 43-34 rebounding edge and forced East Ridge to commit 34 turnovers. Hannah Carter added 14 points for the Warriors.
Kelsi Slone’s 11 points led East Ridge.
