Thursday: Denbigh (2-4) at Hampton (3-3) . . . With a 35-13 breakthrough last year, Denbigh ended a 24-game losing streak to Hampton and notched only their third win in 49 tries against the storied Crabbers. After starting the season 0-4, Denbigh has notched back-to-back victories over Warwick and Gloucester, rushing for 307 yards in that span. They gained only 229 yards on 109 attempts in the previous four games combined. Elijah Rice is coming off a 114-yard performance last week, and even though the Hampton defense is among the best around, it's solid enough to cause problems for the Patriots behind Elijah Conliffe (2 sacks last week), Ricky Hatcher (2INT's) and Cal Kee. Furthermore, the Denbigh defense that is giving up 175.2YPG rushing will have its hands full corralling Crabbers junior dual-threat QB Jovonn 'Bubba' Quillen, who has accounted for 1427 yards and 19TD's in six games this season.
