Today's game can be heard on WHBG ESPN 1360; unfortunately they do not stream online. The game start's at 5:00 so anyone up and down valley shouldn't have any trouble getting it.

Region IV Semi-finals today

Both games are being played at Hooker Field in Martinsville. Game one will be Hidden Valley 18-5 vs. Tunstall 19-1 starting at 5:00 followed by Bassett 10-7 and Cave Spring 10-14.

In the bottom of the 8th with one out and Adam Whitarce on first. Jacob Carney was up next. Carney single's and Whitacre get to 3rd; then Carney I think on an over throw get's to 2nd. Next up was Chase Smallwood he hit's a sac. fly to left to tie it at 4-4. So with Carney on 3rd Reid Entsminger is next and he hits a single to left to bring Carney for the win. Sherando now get's that long awaited trip back to state tournament since 2004. They now will host Woodgrove tomorrow night for the Region II championship. Sherando 22-1 Powhatan 15-7. I should add that in the top of the 8th; Powhatan

with runners on 2nd and 3rd sorry can't remember who the batter was but he got a base hit and it looked like Powhatan scored two to lead 5-3; but the umpires said the second runner missed third so the score was 4-3 going onto the bottom of the 8th.

Alleghany will play Amherst tomorrow night in the championship game. Alleghany 19-5 SR 15-10

Final Bassett 11 Cave Spring 2

Bassett will play Tunstall tomorrow night for the Region IV championship. Bassett 15-7 Cave Spring 10-15 The championship is scheduled to start at 6:00 in Danville.
