Going to be hell of a game. I’m hopeful Dinwiddie is at full strength. I know #1 and #3 didn’t play today and they’re two outstanding players. I know outside of Darius Wilson, Varina is 100%. This is what we’ve all been waiting for. I know I have!

I do plan on making it out to Dinwiddie for the game. Looking forward to seeing everyone I know already and anybody else that I haven’t yet had the privilege of meeting. Going to be a great game!
Was #1 and #3 Dinwiddie’s starting secondary? That’ll change my whole prediction. I got Varina winning no matter what but if that secondary from today plays next week then i can see Varina cruising.
I think Varina’s defensive front will win this game. Varina by 2 TDs
I know #1 is. He’s their second best player on the team. Got quite a few Os and he’s only a sophomore. Heard his arm was messed up bad but heard he could be back next Saturday. Both are big parts of their offense.
I think Dinwiddie will be able to score
on Varina. Varina had at least 7 holding calls that wiped off huge plays last night. Can’t do that against a disciplined team like Dinwiddie.
I’ve seen 3 whole games from Dinwiddie this year: Maury, Matoca, and King George. All 3 games showed the same glaring weakness. I know it’s only 3 games out of 11 but if Varina watches film and exploits it they should have no problem winning next week.
Varina's Dline is the X-factor. If Dinwiddie's oline can hold up it will be a low scoring game 1 possession game. I don't think either team is scoring over 20.
Dinwiddie watches film too. Plus we have the coaching edge & this team isn’t going to get intimidated by anyone. Gone have to lace em up and play 48 minutes to beat Dinwiddie. Every team left has weaknesses and also no team left has a passing game like Maury Matoaca or KG. I’m taking the gang everytime , 1 at a time
I thought Varina did an excellent job of not getting caught up in the hype like Huguenot did. I believe Varina will score more than 20. D1 Carter will be the best receiver Dinwiddie has seen this year and that’s saying a lot. Kaleb Wyche isn’t as big of a name as Harry Dalton is right now but he’s damn sure an X factor like Dalton. Wyche made some insane plays last night and never got raddled when Huguenot hit and pressured him.
Carter is not better than LeBron Bond of Maury. Im sorry. He’s not better than Vonnie too but he was hurt against Dinwiddie.
You wild’n now.. D1 is the best WR in the state of Virginia. 4.4 40 speed, he’s 6’2, 42 plus inch vertical, crazy hands and he’ll dunk on your favorite basketball player too. One of the best all around athletes I’ve ever seen.
You’re biased as hell lol. I can tell you really do know these kids. He’s clearly not the best wr in the state in his own class. Forget the kid name from Louisa but him and Travis Johnson for Smith are top two WRs for class of 26. Carter is a good player but if you truly felt he was better than Bond then there’s no way you’d think this would be a close game. Dinwiddie had nothing for Bond this year.
Check his tape. Bond, Carter and Johnson are tough as hell.. Hell Dre Clarke from Herm may get his 5th star this summer, but none of them D1. The only thing that’ll stop D1 from getting to the league is D1. His football and basketball tape is crazy! The only thing that’ll keep him from playing both sports at the next level is his handle and lack of jump shot.
Both #1 and #3 play defense. I would love to digest and enjoy this win before even thinking about Varina, but some people just like poking the bear. I am usually humble, but not today.
I feel you @General172011, some posters just don't understand bad matchups. King George is microcosm of us and both teams have scored a ton on each other the past three years. Neither team has had many stops.
Dinwiddie only gave up 35 to a team averaging 40.75 points a game and scored 70. In fact they scored 28 points in less than four minutes. Who has done that to King George? On top of averaging 48 points a game the last three games Generals have amassed 1,500 yards of total offense.
Varina has a totally different offense and a bad ass defense. Guess who ain't concerned. We have a bad ass offense and it's going to be a physical war.
These "glaring weaknesses" people see are a result of matchups. Not one team has challenged Maury and they whipped our tails good. We have grown tremendously since then. No shame in losing to the BEST team in the state. At least we had the balls to swing for the fences. By the way, we put up 335 yards of offense against the the Commodore's. What other VA team has done that?
I will never disrespect an opponent like Varina. Wyche is a playmaker and Carter is tough matchup for us. We will sort it out and if we don't good riddance to my Generals.

I wouldn't compare Varina’s offense to King George's. Two totally different schemes. King George is much more diverse and sharp in their play calling.
@Phoebus Fan ask anybody you know from Hampton how many blocks D1 had against them last March. Missed a yam on that 6’8 stud they got.. Caught a body against Churchland. Bond ain’t doing this 💩! D1 IS HIM!
Not you in particular. I'm saying in general(no pun). I think people assume Varina will have success through the air based on what King George did.

We went 1/6 in the red zone against Maury. If we at least go 50% in the red area it’s a different looking ball game lol but I understand. Dinwiddie is the only team this year that has amassed more than 200 yards on Maury. An Varina has never had trouble beating Dinwiddie??? Varina has appeared in three regional finals and has missed the playoffs three times. Overall they have appeared in three state championships winning once in 2021. Varina has been playing since 1940 and is 499-362-16 (.571).
During the same time period Dinwiddie is 123-25 (.831) (0 losing seasons) and 26-8 (.764) in the playoffs. Since 2013, Dinwiddie has played in the regional finals 7 times and missed the playoffs once. Overall Dinwiddie has played in five state championships winning two (2013 and 2022). Dinwiddie has been playing since 1965 and has a record of 346-290-7 (.544).
Coach Lewis and Coach Mills have never met.
Varina is 10-1 with their lone loss coming to Indian River. They average 33.81 points a game and give up 11.54. scoring differential of +22.27.
Dinwiddie is 11-1 with their lone loss coming to Maury. They average 42.41 points a game and give up 17.83. Scoring differential +24.58.
What does all this mean? Other than two proud and successful programs knocking heads, not a dang thing. The stats are equitable.
Personally, I can't wait to welcome Varina to Navy Nation and see two of the most dynamic quarterbacks (Wyche and Dalton) in RVA do their thing. No need to talk smack and be a couch coach. Let the kids settle it on the field. Lots to be proud of.

I respect y’all’s opinion but D1 better than all those guys. His catch radius is the best I’ve ever seen from a high school player. He’ll house it too. Best WR Dinwiddie will see. Write it down, take a pic… You know what Smoky said big homie 😎
@BleedingNavy no trash talk over here. You know me personally and why I’m a Varina guy.. Varina has to clean up some things if they want to win on Saturday. I know for a fact that they respect the Dinwiddie program to the maximum of capacity.
Right on @BoKnowsSports. Your analysis has been fair and respectful regarding Varina. That's the way it should be. I have no problem with gamesmanship or hype for that matter. @acoles is a loyal Varina supporter and whether we like it or not has thrown out his thoughts. My Generals just have to prove him wrong.
I guess my issue is with outsiders stirring the pot. People like @General172011 and @GoBlue2109 who have lived or are living it deserve to pop off if they desire. Our big man has played in the game and led us to our lone victory against Varina.

Varina’s gotta clean up those holding penalties. Dinwiddie’s defensive line plays really fast off the ball and their linebackers get to the ball extremely well. That’s the main reason KG’s QB turned it over 6 times yesterday. Varina’s offensive line has struggled mightily with holding, getting the ball to the QB and watching the play instead of staying on their blocks.
Gap for the most part, but you’ll see them pull a guard or tackle sometimes. They run a lot of sweeps and screens to the outside… The past 4 games I’ve watched them live, they’ve got called for 1-2 illegal man down field a game. They are very athletic up front.
We should have 3 wins against them but not having a field goal kicker in 2009 held us back & 2012 was one of the worst officiated games I’ve seen

Dinwiddie is not Huguenot you gone have to lace em up for 48 minutes to beat Dinwiddie at home it’s gone be a war and everyone in that locker room knows that on both sides. Only game that will be decided by double digits this weekend is Hampton Phoebus other than that every game will be a heavyweight fight idk what film yall be watching or how yall evaluate games but 2 TDs…….. ok
