Safewright had three rushing touchdowns in the second half alone, while Schulz broke off a 50-yard score on 4th & 1 in the third period to give the Lions a double-digit lead.
Warhill scored the game's final 23 points to put the Islanders away for their first win over Poquoson since 2012. That ended a seven-game losing streak in the head-to-head series.
The Lions also improved to 7-0 for the first time in program history.

The Lions are now 7-0 overall, their best start in program history, in the first season at the helm under Rhodes. Previously, he was an assistant to longtime Woodside Head Coach Danny Dodson.
It's the first time Warhill has beaten Poquoson since 2012, ending a seven-game losing streak to the Islanders in the head-to-head series.
The Lions next take on Grafton on October 26th before key November matchups with York and Lafayette to close out the regular season.
