Virginia Academy overcome an 11 point deficit then held off a late 3-point barrage to upset #1 seed Williamsburg Christian Academy in the VISAA D3 semi-finals. Jahlil Jenkins finished with 20 points for Virginia Academy who are looking to win a state championship in their very 1st year.

The Patriots outscored Williamsburg Christian 19-9 in the pivotal 3rd quarter to take a 50-43 lead. They led by as much as 12 points (63-51) in the fourth quarter before the Eagles starting hitting 3's to get back in the game.

The key to the 3rd quarter surge was the inside-out offense deployed by the Patriots. Simon Ejike-Obinna (6-foot-9) and Qudus Wahob (6-foot-10) scored a few inside baskets which opened the outside for Tadas Nuasadas who drained two treys. Nuasadas finished with five treys and 18 points.

Williamsburg Christian led early riding the hot hand of Cle'von Greene who scored 13 1st quarter points. The Eagles took their largest lead 28-17 with just over a minute into the second quarter. However the lead was short lived as Virginia Academy used a 14-3 run and they tied the game at 31 on a three from Nuasadas.
