I'll give it a try.

Hermitage
HSHS
Dinwiddie
TD
Monacan
Manchester
Lee Davis
Varina
Bird
Henrico

Next in: Pat Henry Ashland
***LD and HSHS play this week
***PH & Henrico play this week.
*** Din vs TD in 2 weeks
If we include Louisa they become my number 10 and Henrico is first in.

I think HSHS beats LD and Henrico takes care of PH.

And right now, I would probably take Bird over Monacan in their future game, if it is at Bird, and the opposite if at Monacan. But since that's in the future, a lot could change by game time.

But I think you have all of the top Richmond area teams acounted for.

Bird is @ Monacan

I agree with springer76. I like the order he has them in. I think, imho, some people are punishing Dale too much for the loss to us!

We will see in 2 weeks when they play Dinwiddie. That game will have major implications in both class 6 and class 4. In fact, number 1 playoff seedings could be on the line for both teams in there respective classes.

I'll put my 2¢ in:

Hermitage
HSHS
Dale
Dinwiddie
Monacan
Manchester
Bird
Lee Davis
Varina
Henrico. HM Hopewell.
I think Springer has it right. But, Varina is the real deal. Don't let the score of the Herm game fool you...it was not that bad and actually Varina out played us in some phases of the game. I believe they beat LD and Henrico and give HS a tough one.

That's pretty bold. I think they beat LD, but not Henrico, nor give HS too much trouble.

Really DP? You don't think Varina is going to beat Henrico and HSHS will easily beat Varina? IDK about that. That is as big of a rivalry game as it gets and I think they are closer than you think. We can use LD as a barometer for both teams.

Something tells me this 3 horse race in your district is real. The question is does Henrico make this a 4 horse race or is Henrico just surprisingly fast?

Ain't this fun???!!!

I think Henrico is better than most think, and LD is less.

I'll take my foot with a little catsup please, when I'm totally wrong. (As is usually the case).

I agree with what you said all the way. Just not sure it equates to the same outcome as you think. Especially with Varina and HSHS. I think the game will be good.

Henrico @ LD on 10/28 is a new one on the schedule we should all be circling. I will take LD in this game I think. Definitely 2 good teams and will be a close one.

I would put all three teams, LD, Varina, & Henrico, in the same spot. If you shut down the running game especially Josh Rice and the WR screens, LD might struggle in the passing game. If Chambers for Henrico throws the ball as well as he did against us, they are hard to stop. All are solid teams and key injuries leading up to those matchups could be the difference.

I saw Henrico scrimmage LC Bird and Dinwiddie. Even after losing 2 really good players to private schools they impressed me both physically and mentally. They seemed much more organized.

The Warriors can run and pass. Their only glaring weakness is the punting and kicking game. This could cause problems against good teams.

What is going on with LC Bird? They are awfully quiet. I like their running backs, but their qb just doesnt have the it factor. Very bland. The defense is decent, but not special. I think they finish third in the Dominion and end the season with three losses. What do you guys think.

I saw the tape of the Dinwiddie / Henrico / Bird scrimmage. I also saw the Bird / TD film and the Bird / Midlothian film.

I do think that and hope that Bird finishes 7-3or 8-2! I can tell you that against Dale they are a lot closer than the score would have you believe. A couple of bad breaks and getting in the redzone and not scoring and missing field goals etc. If they played that game again the score wouldn't be that drastic. There is a chance they don't lose again but I'll lean towards a 7-3 or 8-2 finish.

I agree on Henrico and do think they are a very good team. I think they are better than Patrick Hendry but I picked PHA in the upset as I think their magic carpet ride continues for one more week.

I think Bird will open it up more this year. The QB has a strong arm and is accurate. The receivers are fast and have big play ability. The question is will he have the time to throw it. He never looks comfortable in the pocket to me due to the pressure.

Bird is not a bad ball club by any stretch of the imagination .. They are dangerous.

2 Hermitage
3 Dinwiddie
4 Dale
5 Manchester
6 Bird
7 Varina
8 Henrico
9 Hopewell
10 Patrick Henry
I switched # 1 and #2 this week because... in week 1 HSHS and Herm, Herm won, but by the skin on their teeth! Herm has a dynamite defense, HS's is just as good. Herm's offense is better, but nowhere near as strong as HS's now. HS's has turned the corner that everyone has feared and is beginning to eliminate the stupid penalties. From this point, this team is extremely dangerous and getting better.
Switched # 3 and #4, I think Dinwiddie has what it takes to take it all the way to the top! Dinwiddie will win against Dale!
If HSHS and Hermitage meet in the playoffs.... HS takes it and goes on to the State Championship again.
This time, I do believe that Stone Bridge will win.
They return nearly everybody from last years team + they have added a new wrinkle in their offense, a passing game!

Looks like old Springer decided your boys couldn't beat 6-10, and you already beat #5. I'm with you. I punt PA, and put Monacan at #5. I'm not buying into Hopewell at all, but if not them than who?

I hear you on hopewell. Is there anyone that they play that can be a measuring stick outside of Dinwiddie and TD? They lost to Norcom didn't they? Anybody else on there schedule that can give us a better gauge?

Nope, that will tell all. Of course if they manage to win, it will speak volumes. But, just as important is how they lose. Keep it tight with either team for the first half, and they have something for the 3a playoffs. Get blown out by halftime, they will be one and done in the playoffs.
