Essex/Altavista State Semi

Who is going to make their way to the state title game this year? Both have made it back to this point again. I have had a chance to see both play this year in person and had to opportunity to scout Essex a few times including this past weekend at Rapp. Essex played a good game from what I saw but I think Rapp had a bad day and was missing their star running back after the 1st qtr. The game could've been a lot different but here we are. I still stand on what I said previously about Altavista being the better and more dominant team. It helps that they're at home this year and I don't think Essex is ready for what's in store. Ladainian Stone is a 6'1 240 back and I don't think this years team is ready to tackle and deal with him or the other guys for 4 qtrs. The qb and other backs run hard and are just as fast as anyone in the state. Ja'corian Davis is just as fast as any back that Essex has and faced I think Altavista controls the line and will be more physical. I think this year ends differently
Was Davis the player that got chased down by #3 Hence from Essex? Any input to the championship game? You seem to be spot on with all your predictions.

Albemarle Basketball

Completely agree - Coach Greg Maynard does a superb job and I liked their youth a lot when I saw them up close and personal, live, in the Jefferson District Tournament Championship last winter at a Charlottesville team with considerable size on its front-line.

Makai Ragland is one of the better sophomores in the state, regardless of position or class. Does a lot on the court and scores it effortlessly.
