The Problem With Your Hayfield/Darryl Overton Problem

It is easy for any person to stand back and bring up someone else's faults, mistakes, character flaws, mistakes, character flaws, convictions, sins or whatever while acting as if they have lived the life of perfection and only challenged by Jesus Christ himself. Again, I am related to multiple idiots that think, act and live just like that.

For some strange reason masses of people are ok having and or forming fandom, partnerships, memberships or any relationship with groups, corporations or organizations that have committed some of the worst of the worst offenses and atrocities in human history, only to boo hoo the person that points it out. You complain about individual NFL football players making mistakes but turn a willful blind eye to the billionaire owners and the actions of the NFL. You better believe they are not wearing your jersey.

Some of you are ok with Virginia public schools having working relationships with the Catholic Church's Catholic schools.

As an aside many men are quick to say, "If so and so did that to my family member I would _________."

Really? Would you really? No you wouldn't. You know what you would do? Keep reading.

Being a member of that particular organization. Not having an issue with Freedom or any Virginia public school playing against them or not being under a stated protest opens you up to whatever can and will happen because nothing else is worse. I posted this fact prior to Freedom playing DeMatha while stating that the game would be proven to be a colossal waste of time. It was. It was stopped by a literal act of God. 🤭 Even Him, Her, He or She didn't like it. Sent cha packing.

If you are ok with anything the Catholic Church does (and evidently, they have done a whole lot) then you gotta be ok with the entire population of the city/town of Woodbridge, Virginia living in Woodbridge but attending Hayfield High School and football practice each and every day of the week. There is nothing any man, woman or child has done that is worse than what the Catholic Church, Michigan State and Penn State has done and yet they continue to be things that exist and operate in America. Note Dame still has the best sports TV deals, one of the most powerful alumni while consistently possessing a so-so and, at times; subpar football team.

If any man, woman or child did what those awful organizations are accused of doing you would (yes YOU) be the first person running down I95 with a torch and pitch fork in hand. Yet some of you would not hesitate to giddily hand over your son with the hope that he will become a part of the 0.0062%. People wonder why children run the streets committing crimes. They are following the leaders.0

Our standards and morals have been flushed down a filthy, rotten and disgusting toilet. Expect more of less. Bad does not get better. If you are ok with this less than then Darryl Overton and any high school football coach in Virginia can flaunt the rules right in your face and you have to take it. I have a Darryl problem in my family that I have dealt with. You are probably just gonna have to let him be who he is and just live with it. That's what I do.

What are ya gonna do about it? Maybe type a lot of words on Virginia Preps?
Complain about me complaining again?
Danger Will Robinson. Our standards of what we will take/accept and not take action or a stand against is lower than the lowest low. I don't care how you feel about me, you are dealing with the actual Devil but it is in life and football.

1.7 trillion dollars of insurmountable debt due to pointless and useless educations but you mad at Darryl Overton cause he wins football games.

You are not gonna do anything about anything. You go for anything. You stand for nothing. It has been proven.

Varina vs Huguenot

I watched a little on the Facebook stream, but my comment was getting at @BoKnowsSports wishful comments earlier this week about the best offense in the state vs the best front 7. I hadn't seen any live or replays of Huguenot this season, but honestly didn't believe they had the best offense considering their schedule and results.
Oh yeah Maury in a landslide best offense I’ve seen all year. Then Hayfield then Oscar Smith (they also have a fumbling problem)

Varina vs Huguenot

You must didn’t watch that game Huguenot wasnt winning that game on a sunny day where they are “on” I thought they got tougher over the offseason at least that’s what we were sold. They got punched in the mouth and had no response at all

Salem - 14 GW - 3 Halftime

Shabutie-----what changes did Salem make? Or did the kids just rise to occasion?
Scheme wise they really didn't change much. They were just a lot better at the point of attack than last week. Those two brothers for Handley were just man handling people and while GW's OL was solid, they didn't have players like that.

The DBs (especially Coen Logan) also did a tremendous job coming up and making tackles in the running game. They played significantly better than last week as well.

Arrington at LB shot through and made some really big tackles for loss/no gain and DE Davis probably played his best game of the season.

You do quality work, @Chuck Vipperman (GW) . Had a couple people text me during the game (Salem fans) that complimented the production and your fair and balanced announcing. I told them you did good work, I've gone back in the past after GW @ Salem games and listened to your broadcast after the fact just to hear it from the other side, always been impressed.
I agree, you are fantastic @Chuck Vipperman (GW) and do so much good for Danville.

Union @ Graham. Saturday 11/30 @ 2:00 p.m.

Forecast calling for bone chilling cold again next weekend.
Graham won the first meeting 7-6 at Big Stone Gap. Graham's defense has improved quite a bit since that early season meeting. The defense has been playing great all season long. I don't know if or how much Union has improved, but this is a different Graham team from early in the season. They have limited penalties and mistakes the past 3 weeks as well and are playing their best football right now. Should be a good one.
Hopefully, GMen bring it!!! It definitely should be a good one between two solid programs! Graham has really tightened down the past three weeks & seemed laser focused but it’s Union at Mitchell. I don’t know why but I feel like Union always plays Graham better in Bluefield. Graham’s defense has been solid but man, they are just on another level. The offense seemed discombobulated at first has really improved leaps & bounds. Roberts has improved finding open receivers, even running when he can’t find anyone & on designed QB keepers. Lilly in the power run , kid is tough, plays hard! Graham’s ability to switch them out really keeps defenses on their toes. I can’t wait for next Saturday!

Varina vs Huguenot

A ton of talent demolished, because you think the playoffs in Class 4 is a damn show. Varina played smart and fundamental football. Coach Scott needs to take a long look at what it takes to win in Region B. He can surely get the players; however, it takes more than that to be a maestro. Have to get your talent ready for battle.

It's not a coincidence why the same teams in Class 4 are consistent contenders each year. Phoebus, Varina, King George, Salem, Tuscarora, and Dinwiddie HC's not only teach respect they have earned it. We could lose tomorrow, but I guarantee we will show KG all of the respect they deserve.

Madison 35 - Westfield 28

Thanks. Yes, I was there and I agree it was a great game, but a bit frustrating from my point of view since we left too many points on the field again. I would also agree this game pitted the two best teams in the region but that is the way the seedings worked out. It happens some years because teams don't play the same schedules. I know that W-L is undefeated but if you continue to utilize your big three (Yates, Knicely, and Weiler) I think you get the win next week. With the availability of NHFS I probably will watch from home (and I can game hop too) but if I change my mind I will reach out.
I feel that same about Madison on both sides of the ball, but it is why they play the game. Also, Madison's defense had some blown defensive pass coverages... first Westfield touchdown, same set, one play went to the left -- incomplete... second play went right and only two Madison players in coverage that side for three receivers -- touchdown. Westfield ran the same play later in the game a few times. Weiler was probably underutilized some, he is a REAL load to bring down. Smart move by the Westfield coach to extend the Madison defense laterally and in pass protection generally... Vossler did really a good job with game prep and play calling on Madison.

Buckingham Vs Madison

I’m very happy for Buckingham. Very difficult to go through such a big jump in opponent quality from the James River to the bloodbath of 2B. They have always had the talent but tough to pull off close games against quality teams when you haven’t been in one all year and the rest of 2B has been in dogfights in the Shenandoah and Bull Run. Knights got the monkey off their back against Central last week and good job putting away a solid Madison team. Now comes the big test…LONG trip up to Strasburg. I actually was at the Buckingham/Strasburg first round playoff game 3 years ago…Buckingham went up 19-0 and then lost 22-19. Should be an awesome game. The long road trip will be tough but now that Buckingham has broken through in the playoffs I think they have a real shot. Strasburg got its own big breakthrough-always had trouble beating Central once the playoffs rolled around (they’re gone), get to play at home, and just knocked off the defending region champ in dominating fashion. Should be awesome.

Madison 35 - Westfield 28

@falcettik ...great write, as usual ! ! ! Missed the opportunity to catch up with you if you were there...

That was a hell of a game, a lot of plays left on the field when either team should have been "on it." I don't know what next week against W-L will end up with two undefeated teams up against each other (or rather strength of schedule Concorde vs. Liberty), but tonite REALLY felt like the regional championship.

If your going to be at the regional championship game (because #HSFootballGeek like me), maybe a little pre-game at the Hawk & Griffin?
Thanks. Yes, I was there and I agree it was a great game, but a bit frustrating from my point of view since we left too many points on the field again.
