Tell you what, those two scoring plays change the complexion of this immensely. Salem did a lot of things right in this first half and then had that lapse where Green Run erupted for 18 points. Kasir Patterson has shown on a few different plays he's got big-boy potential, or I guess a better way of describing it is, he has the goods to play on Saturdays.

On the 2-point try, I was really surprised because my initial thinking is that the Sun Devils would take the PAT to make it a one-possession game. It looked like Jason 'Scooter' Williams might've thrown an illegal forward pass (like beyond the line of scrimmage) as he was trying to avoid the rush and get it to Willie Moore, but the refs pick up the flag they threw.

The Stallions - who get the ball first to begin the third quarter - have plenty of time to add to their total with 37 seconds to go and the ball at their own 35.

Green Run has quickly accumulated now 234 yards of offense... and it would be greater if not for the 10 penalties for 97 yards.

That was a beautiful play-design and execution on their third TD of the night as K'Saan Farrar quickly dumped it off to Charles Jackson and the Norview transfer had lots of daylight along the near sideline.

Named Chicho's Pizza 757 Football Player of the Week just last week, Farrar has 110 through the air and 92 rushing.

Green Run brings the jet sweep out of the bag, which you knew it was only a matter of time offensive coordinator Qutrell Payton utilized that with the weapon that Jayden Anderson is. They gain 10 yards on the run. A time-out is burned by Green Run - since Salem emptied its bag with 8 minutes + in the first half - and htat stops the clock with 1:16 to go until half-time.

From the 30 of Salem, the Stallions go back to the air, but a dropped pass prevents them from a long gainer, or perhaps a touchdown.

Some wondered about the complementary receivers after Anderson and it's not quite as dependable of a unit, yet at least, compared to previous seasons when they put up record-setting numbers with their prolific passing attack.

Markus McCoy makes his 7th sack of the season for the Salem defense, prompting Green Run to use its last time-out with exactly 1:00 left on the first half clock with the Stallions staring at 3rd & 13 from the 33 of the Sun Devils.

Salem begins its latest possession at their own 26 with 4:03 till half-time. Willie Moore gains 3 yards and then on 2nd & 7 they go for a deep shot that they are unable to connect on... and that right ther eis where things can begin to snowball downhill against a team as lethal as the Stallions.

You have to be patient with your offensive approach, and now the Sun Devils get conservative with a pass underneath on 3rd & 7. Jahari Williams makes another firm tackle.

The punt does not help the Sun Devils out at all as Green Run takes over at midfield with 2:16 till intermission, definitely thinking about growing the lead.

Halftime Riverheads 7, Christiansburg 7

I think this is Altavista's year, but Essex has a very good chance. That being said, Riverheads(pun intended) heads back to 1A next year, Essex returning players and what will Altavista bring back? 1A could be very exciting next year, let's hope.
