What about BG with that daunting schedule? Any chance?Todd is my guy but Essex’s schedule is the worse of any contender in the state. They’re playing Charles City tonight for homecoming. I like Altavista to come out of the East simply because they’re going to be extremely battle tested.
Buckingham will beat LunenburgCentral will win at least 4 of the last 6, possibly all 6 or 5 of those 6, and they will get in the playoffs as likely the 7 or 8. Would be interesting if they are the 8 and Buckingham is the 1 and Central traveling to Buckingham in round 1. If Buckingham doesn't lose to Central Lunenberg (that game is soon) then they likely run the table and go 10 and 0 as they will be heavy favorites for their last 5 games after Lunenberg Central.
This hurts CW obviously by having to travel and being a lower seed, but it also hurts the likely 1 or 2 seed who will get a nice reward for their efforts in regular season, thus having to face Central Woodstock in round 1 this is assuming Central is the 7 or 8, but if they win out, they could be a better seed than 7 or 8
I agree 100%, the right guy for each program always isn’t the guy who decided as a 19-20 year old to go to school to become a teacher or consolerCoaching for most sports has become a year-round commitment. Most teachers can't do that and shouldn't be expected to do it.
I’ve watched Graham play 3 games now. In the games that I have watched them dominate defensively, the opposing teams appear to be really 1 dimensional. I am anxious to see Glenvar play Radford, Floyd, and Allegheny. Right now though, Graham hasn’t played an offense like Glenvar has yet this year. Well balanced, mixing it up, with multiple players that can score from anywhere on the field. Glenvar arguably has the best Quarterback in 2A right now. 6’5 runs well and throws dots. If he is on he’s going to be difficult to beat. From a Radford fan I'm also worried about Graham because I wouldn't want to be the team that plays them. Defense wins titles and Grahams defense might be the best they've had in over 30 years. I don't see anyone moving the ball on them or any teams offense scoring over 10 pts. Graham's scores will not be as wide of victory margins this year, but it will not matter. 49 to 13 looks great compared to 28-7 but the truth is, the team with 7 has little chance of moving the ball. If you look at how many yds per game Graham is giving up, it's alarmingly low and for Graham, might be historic low and having to go back all the way to 1989. Their defense is that good this year
