It's a beautiful sunny day here at Scott Stadium, both teams on the field warming up.

Highland Springs has brought a huge contingent of fans and they are making their presence felt early.

Stone Bridge fan base is a bit small right now but sure to grow as we get closer to game time.

Who do you like today? Stone Bridge or Highland Springs

It's been pro Highland Springs this week. A lot of people for at the end the Springers will be hoisting the trophy... Could there be an upset brewing? Stone Bridge cannot be taken lightly.

Springers band is on the field lined up at one endzone. It is customary for the team to run through their band before the start of each game like so many do.

Highland Springs won state title in 1961 before there were actual playoff games. Finished runner-up in 1978 and 1989.

Stone Bridge has one state title from 2007 but has finished runner-up four other times 2005, 2009-2010, 2012.

Teams are on the field, national anthem is over and we are getting ready for some football. Stone Bridge student section is loud and proud, student section for Highland Springs is significantly smaller but the fan base is certainly larger.

Stone Bridge will receive the ball to start, Springers will get it in the second half. We will get a look early as to how the Springers defense will handle Stone Bridge offense.

Leaping catch for Chase Ridley on a 4th & 5 for Stone Bridge! That gives the Bulldogs a first down at the Springer 32 with a fresh set of downs!

DJ Anderson with a 61-yard touchdown run at the 8:27 mark of the first quarter! Highland Springs strikes first 7-0!

Stone Bridge will start their second possession of the day from their own 20. Last time around ended in an interception. Do they stay with the pass or go to the ground game?

Joshua Breece with some fancy footwork carrying the ball to give the Bulldogs another first down. This drive alone has been predominantly run after the interception on the first possession.

Pass to Dewayne Winston gets the ball to about the four yard line but the Springers wrap him up there and will take over. That's two trips to the redzone for Stone Bridge and nothing to show for.

Stone Bridge defense with a big stop forcing the Springers to punt. With a penalty against Highland Springs they are now punting almost from their own endzone. Stone Bridge should get the ball about midfield to start the second quarter.

Springers defense not allowing much on this posession for Stone Bridge. 3 yards on two plays and a fumble on third down will set the Bulldogs back even more in their effort to get on the scoreboard. Stone Bridge down faces 4th & 15.

Huge miscue for the Springers as they touch the ball and Stone Bridge recovers. Stone Bridge gets a break with the ball on the 17 yard line.

K'Von Wallace keeps Breece out of the endzone for the moment but it appears a score is imminent. 1st & goal for Stone Bridge at the 1

Chase Ridley ties it up with a short touchdown run... Knotted up 7-7 between Highland Springs and Stone Bridge with 8:48 to go in the first half.

Greg Dortch running all over the place eluding players for a huge gain but it's coming back with yet another flag. Penalties have been a problem for Highland Springs in this one so far.

Springers have passed twice on second and third downs but could not complete and thus they are punting with Stone Bridge getting the ball at about the 22.

Stone Bridge hit with intentional grounding on third down deepening their hole as they will be punting close to their own endzone. Springers should get the ball about midfield.

Pass to K'Von Wallace gives the Springers a first down at the 22. With less than 5 minutes to go in the game, Springers trying to get another score on the board.

Huge pass to K'Von Wallace in the endzone for the go-ahead score. Highland Springs leads 14-7 with 3:57 to go in the first half.

Thompson throws it away on third down as he was being heavily pursued by Jamoni Jones. Stone Bridge will punt with a little more than 3 minutes to go in the game. Quick possession for Stone Bridge.

Greg Dortch picks up the ball with a huge return of about 30 yards but there is a flag on the field of course, 3 to be exact.

Springers get the ball at the Stone Bridge 47... Run the ball and eat up some clock or pass and go with what is working?

With a little over a minute to go the Springers have the ball 3rd & 10. Stone Bridge with a stop will get the ball back but can they get down the field and score before halftime is a whole other question. All a moot point if Highland Springs can convert.

A big pass to K'Von Wallace near the endzone falls incomplete and thus Stone Bridge will get the ball back with about a minute to go in the half.
