Class 4 Title Game - Phoebus vs Varina

Heated game for teams who've never played each other ever. Lot of laundry on the field in a game that's not even close to being done.
In all seriousness, Varina/Phoebus and any team that qualifies for the finals win or lose deserves to be there. Richmond area has a great history and hopefully they can lead the Steelers to a Super Bowl with a little help from the Peninsula District.

A few things:
The officials are from the Southeastern Football Officials Association. Phoebus' is from the Peninsula Football Officials Association. Very closeby. I would have rather had the Northern Virginia Football Officials Association that called the Class 3 Final. They were great.
Secondly, the same group called the Colonial Forge/Oscar Smith game last week. They weren't good then, and they aren't good now.
Finally, I can see things getting pretty ugly towards the end. The players were jawing during pregame and we've already seen some extracurriculars after plays tonight. Don't be surprised if it's bad.
Intense game though. Best game in the state by a mile today so far.

Happened right in front of us. Great awareness and play by the Phoebus lineman after the fumble
The announcers are just plain ass. Very bias. U can tell they wanted Varina to win
If Varina had a real offensive system they could've won this game. Same story. Phoebus was the more discipline team and that's how you win at this level. Just hope Wyche avoided a major injury. That's my only concern at this point. Congrats Phoebus.

Congrats Varina. You guys are very tough. Yall played well. I hope the qb is OK. Nothing to be ashamed of. Hats off to Phoebus. They did pretty good for a team that folks said didn't play nobody. The difference of this game was Phoebus experience and the qb for Varina getting hurt.
Prayers up for the Varina QB. He played his heart out especially with what he was up against. Great defensive gem as I predicted by both teams. Now, I don't want to hear anything about Phoebus only winning because Varina's QB got injured when Phoebus won the last two State Championships with backup QBs starting the entire games of both. I still think Varina will be a problem next year and should be the early favorites. Congrats to the Phantoms' senior class. Thank you so much for so many wonderful memories! Congrats to Coach Blunt and staff as well as the underclassmen who will be pretty good for years to come.
Great gameplan by Phoebus on Carter. He was a non factor. Varina’s defense was good but Phoebus wore that defensive line down with Bull Roberts running hard.
This was an emotional win forreal. This class was special. Class of 2025 will graduate with a 58-1 record and 4 state titles.
