Yall are too funny. If I remember last years championship board, Kenneth thought Salem was going to give Phoebus a hell of a game, while Phoebus fan thought Salem could not match up against them.

Now you’re flip flopped, Phoebus fan is putting respect on varina as a worthy adversary and Kenneth thinks the opponent can’t match up.

I obviously picked Varina to win this one, but it’s a shot in the dark. Phoebus could win by 21+ and that wouldn’t be surprising either.

I just saw the article in the Richmond Times News - Everyone Doubted Us. My question to Varina fans.

How can you doubt a senior lead team with 6 all state players - 3 chips, that last lost as freshman in 2021 before the playoffs to 6A State Champ Oscar Smith (757)???

I keep hearing Phoebus ain't played nobody. According to Varina fans- they have it all. On saturday, Phoebus will play somebody great. Let's see what happens

In all seriousness, Varina/Phoebus and any team that qualifies for the finals win or lose deserves to be there. Richmond area has a great history and hopefully they can lead the Steelers to a Super Bowl with a little help from the Peninsula District.

Greetings from a very cold Williams Stadium!

A few things:

The officials are from the Southeastern Football Officials Association. Phoebus' is from the Peninsula Football Officials Association. Very closeby. I would have rather had the Northern Virginia Football Officials Association that called the Class 3 Final. They were great.

Secondly, the same group called the Colonial Forge/Oscar Smith game last week. They weren't good then, and they aren't good now.

Finally, I can see things getting pretty ugly towards the end. The players were jawing during pregame and we've already seen some extracurriculars after plays tonight. Don't be surprised if it's bad.

Intense game though. Best game in the state by a mile today so far.

2008 it was 13-6 at half an they came out and took the entire 3rd to score then we went 3 & out an they scored in less than 2 minutes to open the game up…. (08 is the greatest High School team I’ve ever seen!)

Being unbiased, Phoebus has a better defense than Dinwiddie this year a will undoubtably be the best defense has seen all year. I think Varina will make plays but the thing about Phoebus in these situations (state games) you have to consistently make plays and keep the crowd out of the game. Once that chant starts going momentum usually shifts really really fast. Varina has to play mistake free, if it’s close in the 4th im almost 100% certain Phoebus wins

If Varina had a real offensive system they could've won this game. Same story. Phoebus was the more discipline team and that's how you win at this level. Just hope Wyche avoided a major injury. That's my only concern at this point. Congrats Phoebus.

Prayers up for the Varina QB. He played his heart out especially with what he was up against. Great defensive gem as I predicted by both teams. Now, I don't want to hear anything about Phoebus only winning because Varina's QB got injured when Phoebus won the last two State Championships with backup QBs starting the entire games of both. I still think Varina will be a problem next year and should be the early favorites. Congrats to the Phantoms' senior class. Thank you so much for so many wonderful memories! Congrats to Coach Blunt and staff as well as the underclassmen who will be pretty good for years to come.

Great gameplan by Phoebus on Carter. He was a non factor. Varina’s defense was good but Phoebus wore that defensive line down with Bull Roberts running hard.

This was an emotional win forreal. This class was special. Class of 2025 will graduate with a 58-1 record and 4 state titles.
