Blog Class 6 Final: Oscar Smith Tigers (14-0) vs. James Madison Warhawks (14-0)

Another championship contest is about to kickoff. The Oscar Smith Tigers @OscarSmithFB (14-0) are battling the Madison Warhawks @madfootball3 (14-0) in the Class 6 State Championship at JMU
 
Oscar Smith goes for it on 4th and the Warhawks deny them. Turnover on downs. Madison ball.
 
Jaden Dabbs blocks the punt for Oscar Smith and the Tigers have the ball at the Madison 30 yard line.
 
Five straight runs by Brandon Nesbit and Oscar Smith is on the board first. Tigers lead Madison 7-0 after a 2 yard run by the senior.
 
The Tigers forced to punt after a holding penalty negates a first down run by Lonnie Andrews.
 
Matthew Vojta saves Madison from giving up a touchdown on the punt return by Oscar Smith's Kaden Walker.
 
Another 1st down negated by a penalty and Oscar Smith has to punt. Madison ball on their own 28 yardline. 5:38 remaining in the first half.
 
But Oscar Smith recovers the fumble on the very next play to send the Madison offense to the sideline.
 
Oscar Smith is not doing themselves any favors with all the penalties. Holding makes it 2nd and 19.
 
Warhawks punt and Oscar Smith with the ball at their 26 yard line. 0:19 remaining in the first half.
 
Cael Yates completes a pass to Dominic Knicely for a 30 yard gain to get the Warhawks into Oscar Smith territory.
 
Another completion by Yates to Knicely and the senior goes the distance for a 46 yard touchdown. Extra point is no good. Oscar Smith 7, Madison 6
 
Two plays in a row, Brandon Nesbit is stuffed on the ground and Oscar Smith turns the ball over on downs.
 
Cael Yates avoids stepping out of bounds while rolling to his right on fourth down and throws across his body to the middle of the field for a 9 yard gain. First down Madison at the Oscar Smith 25.
 
Madison takes the lead on a Dominic Knicely 7 yard run, his second rushing TD of the game. 2 point conversion is good. The Warhawks lead Oscar Smith 14-7. The Warhawks drive is 13 plays, 52 yards and takes 6:23.
 
A 12 yard run and a 14 yard pass from Lonnie Andrews to Brandon Nesbit to start the drive for Oscar Smith.
 
But Oscar Smith gets just three yards on the next three plays. Fourth down and 1 for the Tigers.
