Coach Axselle took down another former Godwin Coach with 100% of the vote over Coach Phillips.
Coach Jarvis with 80% of the vote took out Coach Murray Wood of John Marshall.
Every Mills Godwin coach will be measured against the legendary Ron Axselle. Axselle was the first coach of the Godwin Eagles beginning in 1981 and taking him them into the 21st century before retiring in 2004. When Coach Axselle called it a career he finished with a mark of 161-92-1. In 24 seasons Coach Axselle led the Eagles to two region titles in 1984 and 1988. In 24 seasons the Eagles had 17 winning seasons and 10 playoff appearances with a mark of 7-10.
Coach Billy Jarvis made the rounds in the Richmond Region with 4 stints over 13 years. His tour of the region began at Manchester where he spent 2 seasons, 1984-1985 then it was off to Henrico for 3 seasons from 1986-1988 before heading to Petersburg for 4 seasons, 1989-1992. Jarvis tour of the region concluded at Hermitage preceding Kane from 1997-2000. In 4 stints and 13 seasons Coach Jarvis posted 8 winning seasons, made the playoffs twice and went 1-2 in those playoffs. In 13 seasons Coach Jarvis built a 70-63 mark.
