Former Blacksburg offensive line coach Brad Deemer died yesterday in a car accident in Tazewell County. He was driving to Richlands to watch his former boss, Thad Wells, in Thad’s first game as Richlands’ head coach following the departure of long-time, highly successful Richlands head coach Greg Mance. Two schools’ fan bases and coaching staffs - Richlands and Blacksburg - are hurting today. Thad will coach his first game at his alma mater with a heavy heart.
