Heritage Lynchburg’s Elijah Davis

Wish him the best. I think there may have been interest at one time between the two but certainly he is in a very good situation. Will weather be a factor?

Getting playing time for ODU and has already scored 2 TD’s!
Im from appomattox and its great to see ED getting playing time after Liberty U shunned him. LU witnessed him getting other interest late in senior yr, only then, they wanted to offer him. Im a LU alum and Im always irritated at LU for that. They always want to see who offers our local talent before offering them a scholly. They did that to ED and he said...NAH, dont try that now...IM OUT! I dont blame him. LU never looks in house for talent until someone else offers in D1 first (they did Javon Scruggs the same way).

I agree with you, they offered him way too late in the game, but I doubt he would’ve went there. I would’ve loved to see him play for Liberty and I thought he could’ve gotten playing time immediately there. But he made his decision, and looks like he made the right one. He surged up the depth chart filled with running backs and is starting this weekend vs VA Tech.

What other offers did Scruggs have?

Hope he runs wild!
I agree that LU made a poor decision but like stated, they (football anyway) always seem to think all the grass is greener elsewhere (unless they are from LCA)

For Javon Scruggs. I think App. State showed interest and I think he had an offer from Marshall. Don't quote me on those though.

Javon is definitely a big time player. Liberty has some big time talent in their backyard. They have the Lynchburg metro (Amherst, Appo, Bedford plus Lynchburg), Roanoke metro (Salem to Pulaski plus Roanoke), Danville metro (Martinsville to South Boston plus Danville) and Richmond isn't far away at all. They need to start taking advantage of it. Who wouldn't want to play at Williams Stadium, play ACC and other power 5 schools, and use those beautiful facilities. It's a win win at LU.
