Homestanding James Monroe avenged Wednesday night’s 68-53 setback at Eastern View by topping the Cyclones 66-56 at home on Friday night.
With the win, JM (16-5, 8-3) once again forced a second-place tie in the Battlefield District standings with EV (9-9, 6-3). The Yellow Jackets have just one remaining game in the regular season, a road test at Caroline next Friday. The Cyclones will visit Caroline on Monday, before closing out their regular season with games at Spotsylvania on Tuesday and at home versus Chancellor Thursday.
