2:29 left in 1st quarter of #Class5 girls state final: Edison 12, Princess Anne 8. Eagles showing no signs of intimidation against Cavaliers.
Edison is one of the few teams that can actually play with PA and can knock them off.
End 1: Edison 18, Princess Anne 15. Edison’s Bri Johns is on fire, connecting on 3 of 4 3-point attempts, including one just before the buzzer.
An Aziaha James 3-pointer gives Princess Anne it’s largest lead so far, 31-23, and forces Edison to call timeout with 3:01 left in half.
HALFTIME: Princess Anne 40, Edison 28. Cavaliers knocked down four 3s in the period to create some breathing room. James, who came off the bench, sank two of those on her way to 8 pts. Stats upcoming.

FINAL: Princess Anne 69, Edison 55. Cavaliers win a record sixth consecutive state championship. Coach Darnell Dozier now has 10 rings.
The only thing that kept this game close was Princess Anne's mistakes. Some of the turnovers that they had were head scratchers. It looked to me that they got a tad complacent. Edison was a good team but the game was never in doubt. Princess Anne with what they have coming back, seems primed for 7 in a row. Dynasty indeed.
To be that dominant with only TWO seniors, yeah, I’d say the streak is in good standing.
