anybody know if next season 2021 fall will start on time and if does will they play full schedule and when will the schedules come out?

Full schedule on time in full stadiums. Schedules should be on VHSL site in June.

Without getting political, what will it look like at your favorite high school football game when the season starts?
I think crowd limits and social distancing will be gone. I HOPE that mask wearing is only suggested but not mandatory.
I assume there will be some type of mandatory testing for the football teams and their coaches and staff.

Now that vaccinations are available to younger and younger people, (I don't pass judgement), I believe enough people will be vaccinated by Labor Day that any reasonable policy maker will feel comfortable with the dissolution of all Covid inspired restrictions. Which would mean a return to school as we knew it in Sept of 2020. What drove the restrictions was not that someone could catch Covid, but that it would spread uncontrollably. With what is being called herd immunity, that fear should be put to rest. Will some cases continue to occur? Of course. But if there is only a very limited number of susceptible people that could/would be exposed to a contagious person, the odds would be very small and acceptable.
The risk of anything catastrophic occurring because of covid is infinitesimal compared to what has, and continues to occurr to our school children, and to all of us for that matter, let's be honest. We sacrificed tremendously as a society for the last 18 months. Whether it was warranted and justified is not the question right right now. The point is to recognize that we endured and persevered and have all but put this horrible period in our lives in the rear view mirror. It's time to let out a huge sigh, to smile the smile of someone that has a disagreeable task completed, and enjoy life again. And what better way than to assemble with friends and family, to shake hands, and hug, and cheer our kids as they entertain us on the football field?

i agree thanks for updates i miss being able to go to games and just enjoy football since my little does band at bassett high school i used to love going to watch the games and the band but she is graduating next friday night so hopefully i will be able to go to some local schools games next year and enjoy friday night lights again
I see a requirement that all football players be vaccinated. It may spread to some schools for all in person students. It’s already happening in more than a few colleges.
Per CDC, no more masks for the fully vaccinated, indoors or outdoors. That's essentially the end of it because anti-vaxxers will be too cowardly to say they're not vaccinated and don't want to wear a mask and will just lie and say they're vaccinated. With what Northam wants to do June 15 and VA's numbers dropping like a stone we should be on pace for as close to a return to normalcy come this Fall as we can hope. Herd immunity seems unlikely due to the poorly educated anti-vaxxers which means COVID will just become endemic and boosters will be needed, although they'll be far less likely to put you on your rear after receiving them as your body becomes more adept at handling the virus (or what it perceives to be the virus) as we go forward. COVID's endgame will likely be becoming another common cold, although the efficacy of the vaccine means if it were to ever become part of the vaccine schedule for children we could probably get rid of it in a few generations.
They might have to show their vaccination card to get in some places. It is already happening in Texas at concerts. They had covid sniffing dogs. It's sort of like when I got wanded at Danville. Even though I probably would not have got shot you never know when somebody might breathe death on you or your loved one.
Yea, very possible. Plus businesses will still have the final say as well. I just feel bad for the immunocompromised, they're basically going to have to just hope and pray that the people they're around were the sensible ones who got vaccinated but given the outlook for this country I guess the CDC figured this was as good as it was going to get.
And did anyone catch what they've recently discovered? That COVID can stick around on men and cause ED? I'm sure only the most virile men post on this board and wouldn't encounter such an issue if they lived to be a thousand but personally I'm not really interested in testing my luck. Between that and all the other post-COVID issues, just no thanks. Very likely that in a few years we could see a whole crop of people up and die or encounter very serious health issues traced back to COVID, that was always the most worrying part to me.
Maybe we should make them visit India with their whole family. I do believe, if they survived, they might have an epiphany.

its not about your health entirely , but even if no symptoms you can spread it to someone who may end up in a hospital. The vaccine is entirely safe get it. My wife and I got the vaccine, no issues at all. No mask now . Screw the restaurant or stores procedures I now quote CDC and will not wear. I have my CDC card. India is legitimately heartbreaking. What is happening there was the whole purpose of flattening the curve. They got a spike and they were overwhelmed instantly and people are quite literally dying on the street. No oxygen available and what little is is quite often being stolen from the hospital to go to the rich who are buying it. One of the biggest vaccine producers on the planet but they were so focused on the supply side for exporting that their government didn't spend enough time and money on the home front.
They don't even have enough supplies and people to bury the dead so they're cremating en masse. Horrifying situation.
Hey, I'm happy for you and glad you and your wife are not experiencing any side effects. And if people want to take it that is great as well. But no, I'm not getting it. Nor is at least 50% of the population. This whole situation has been shady AF. And besides, if people have the vaccine why are they so concerned about those of us who refuse it?

Yes and science will tell you that the more virus out there the more variants and thus the more chance for it to reach your children and maybe the superhumans who did not get it. I'm not going to get it is just a selfish response. It is not a responsible reason in a modern society where we should be looking out for each other. From what I can see and this is not politics there are two sides. One side believes in being responsible for themselves and others around them. The other side believes that they know more than experts who study these things and do not care about the safety of others. It is sort of like walking in a gym and smoking and blowing smoke in somebody's face that is working out. Shoot you going to die of something anyway.
Well, if a person who is more seriously affected chose not to take the vaccine, then that is the risk they were fine with. I know I'm fine with such risks. Now, if that person who is more seriously affected took the vaccine and still got infected? Then I would be really worried about this so called miracle cure. As it stands I'm still just waiting to meet one person who has actually tested positive for it.

I struggle with this in the classroom all the time. I have to tell the kiddos that your "facts" don't trump someone else's opinion. In my opinion it's fine to not trust the vaccine and want to wait for more time to pass to evaluate its effectiveness. It's also fine to think that it's perfectly safe and to go get it. I tell kids the same thing about Trump, BLM, etc. No cancellations in my classroom. And to not be a hypocrite...the Foxes 🦊 will win the Battlefield this year!😁

Well Jussie, it's actually like 99.67% recovery rate. And that is IF you believe the yearly flu rates basically dropped to zero. Which, you do.
For those of us who do not believe the yearly flu dropped literally to zero the recovery rate is even higher.

Once again people, if you want the vaccine then go for it. But leave the rest of us alone. The vaccine is going to protect you against us heathens right? If that answer is no then you might want to reevaluate that whole vaccine thing. Unfortunately, the latest news is the Governor is not changing the current mask guidelines to follow the new CDC guidelines . I guess he follows the science only when it restricts people, not when it doesn’t. I can’t type what I think about him,
He reminds me of the keebler elf with his dodgy little eyes and eastern shore "lisp" or whatever it is you want to call it lol.
