Does anyone have any details? I guessing Top 8 or Top 6 in Region A, if Top 6 the Top 2 gets byes. Just my guess, sum1 inform me lol

Unless something has changed, it is still top 8 in Region A. There's still 13 football playing schools in Region A. I doubt they would just take 6, because that would leave out more teams than who got in.

Figured since the realignment there might be a change. Chincoteague usually doesn't play post season ball. So 8 teams out of 12 (maybe 11 depending on Charles City) is right much. Guess it's been like that in Region B for years so 8 prob right.

2 years I believe

I wasn't counting Chingoteague but I was counting Charles City. I was doing it off the top of my head, so it might be 12.

Essex
Rappahannock
Colonial Beach
Washington and Lee
Lancaster
Northumberland
West Point
Mathews
Middlesex
King and Queen
Charles City
Northampton

I had to write them out. Lol. It is 12, I forgot that Windsor is moving up to 2A.

There goes a certain team excuse , they no longer can use Windsor as justification for having 1000 students lol!

The reason chincoteague doesn't play post season is because they don't play a full district schedule in football. Last year they didn't even play a district game. Middlesex and Charles City (if Fielding a team) won't play their full district schedule either. Neither are scheduled to play KW. If that's the case it'll only be 10 for 8.
6 locks
Essex
Rappahannock
Colonial Beach
Washington and Lee
Northumberland
West Point

2 of these 4
Lancaster
Northampton
Mathews
King and Queen

I would suspect they would also plan for future years when more teams would be eligible, instead of basing it off just next season.

Any chance of going back to the A/B and C/D combined format? Not that I have any issue with RHS playing the B region only but it did give some intriguing matchups. I know most didn't like the travel but I was a fan.

I was aware of the issues in Charles City, but what is going on in Middlesex that they won't play a full district schedule?

They play everyone but King William. They forfeited to them midseason last year and decided not to play them again this year.

I don't know for sure and am just throwing a guess out there but could be them just trying to be competitive and save the program.
2-7 last year with 2 wins over King and queen. The only district game they aren't scheduled to play is KW who they are 0-14 against since '04 and includes some pretty bad beatings like 85-0, 51-0, 62-0.
Also, we've touched on this board in the past and not trying to reopen that argument about what is and isn't right but KW does have a bit of a history of scoring a lot of points against some of the weaker tidewater teams. 60+, 70+, and everyone remembers them putting 90 on King and queen just a few years ago. Right or not right, it happened and ADs aren't quick to forget if they feel negatively about it.

Play your district schedule but I can understand from an athletic directors standpoint. Why do it just to make the playoffs and then draw Essex or Rapp in the first round.
Their schedule for 2019
Mathews
Cumberland
Chincoteague
Lancaster
King and queen
Northampton
West point
Atlantic shores
King and Queen
Mathews

Could easily see them over .500 with that and who cares if they make the playoffs but have a winning season.

The Tidewater district seems to be really down. I guess it doesn't help to have a 2A monster in it.

I know districts have changed over the years and not sure when the current tidewater came together but talk about dominance in a district. Sine 2010 KW has outscored tidewater teams on average 51-9.
Win streaks against each team
CC 17, KQ 24, Mathews 15, Middlesex 24, West point 18.

Ironically the two closest games since 2010 came at the hands of the two teams not playing them anymore. 2016 38-30 vs Charles City. And 2017 22-13 vs Middlesex. Next 5 closest games were all, not surprisingly, against West Point.
13 times in the last 38 games KW won by over 50 and 26 times (68%) were games decided by more than 5 TDs in favor of KW.

Four seasons football is a great site haha

I doubt that happens, but my view on it was that a majority of fans in each class did like it. I'm sure it was higher up that didn't like it

There goes a certain team excuse , they no longer can use Windsor as justification for having 1000 students lol!

This is funny, but why was Windsor in 1a with 1000 students? That would make them 3a not 2a. Good thing so my team doesn't have to deal with a team with that many

Is Charles City still out for 2019 or is it too early to tell.

VHSL gave them credit for 513 during realignment

*Northampton* is the new "model" for those guys...

Now, if I'm not mistaken isnt Stonewall Jackson-MJ moving up to 2A? Them and their 50 game losing streak or whatever it is? I suppose the argument could be made that this poor team from Mount Jackson (or heck, we could use Windsor as well) isnt afraid to move up...

Poor Stonewall. I believe their 2nd closest game last season was their playoff game. Ironically, their 1st closest was Robert E Lee, I mean Staunton who was a playoff team and the previous years state runner up. Aside from the 14 point loss to Lee, and 18 point loss to Altavista, their next closest game was 42 points.

But, they are the best thing in the state I have seen in concession food. That food is soooooooo good. It's a crying shame Stuarts Draft doesn't play them now. I will miss that. I might even have to go there for our bye week to get food haha

It seems like only yesterday that they had some good teams over at Stonewall. Really fell off of a cliff there as far as football is concerned. It is shocking that they only lost to R.E. Lee by 14 though. I recall the food being good there as well! Only been there once and not sure I'll ever make it back unless they play Rappahannock County. Might try to make that game if they ever do schedule each other. Battle of the Bad.

Do you recall the days when they had a few fans on these boards? I do. Long gone now I guess.

I do, but can't remember any of their names.

Of course I wasn't there, and could have gotten bad information, but I recall that Lee game being on a Saturday and it being a lot closer than 14. Like a 14 point swing near the end of game.

Stonewall food so good I actually take some home. And its strange as something like the Carroll Burger isn't wrapped like most food you get now at games. So I actually took something to wrap it up in Haha. That burger consists of homemade chili and fried onions. That have combos there, like chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, all kinds of stuff. But that burger is the thing.

So while the team may be bad, and game won't be good, I suggest anyone who plays them to go
